ROLE OVERVIEW
The Product Manager, Curriculum & Instruction Services works closely with the Lead of Staff Learning Service Products to manage the continuous improvement of the service product portfolio that builds staff capacity and strengthens instructional practice in virtual schools. Product Managers assess school, staff, and instructional needs; define and refine service product roadmaps; monitor product development and delivery; and communicate priorities, progress, and outcomes with internal and external stakeholders. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, including Service Product Developers & Providers, School Service Management & Delivery, Research & Efficacy, Accountability, Legal, Enrollment, Curriculum, Product Solutions, and other teams in the Product and Technology department. They apply product, service design, and continuous improvement practices to scale effective instructional practice across the network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Product Strategy & Roadmapping
Collaborate with the Lead of Staff Learning Service Products to shape and continuously refine the strategy and roadmap for Curriculum & Instruction service products.
Translate organizational priorities, research findings, accountability data, and school needs into prioritized service product investments.
Balance innovation, iteration, and sustainability across a portfolio of service products.
Make informed tradeoffs to maximize impact across staff capacity and academic programming.
Portfolio Management & Execution Oversight
Manage service product intake, discovery, backlog refinement, and sequencing.
Monitor development and delivery of service products in partnership with Service Product Developers & Providers.
Ensure service products are delivered with clarity of scope, purpose, and success criteria.
Track progress and surface risks, dependencies, and decisions needed to maintain momentum.
Service Product Scope
The Product Manager owns a portfolio of Curriculum & Instruction Services, which may include:
Asynchronous staff learning and micro-credential pathways
Synchronous professional learning experiences, including cohorts and communities of practice
Program implementation and best-practice guides
Role-based onboarding and mentoring pathways
Conference learning experiences related to Curriculum & Instructional Best Practices
Adult Learning & Staff Capacity Building
Ensure service products are intentionally designed to build adult knowledge, skills, and practice.
Partner with Service Product Developers & Providers to shape learning experiences that are role-relevant, job-embedded, and practice-centered.
Support the development of role-based learning pathways and micro-credential courses in curriculum implementation and instructional best practices.
Program Efficacy & Instructional Implementation
Own service products that support schools in standing up, strengthening, and sustaining high-quality academic and instructional programs.
Ensure implementation guides, audits, and tools are practical, compliant, and designed for continuous improvement.
Partner with School Service Delivery & school-facing teams to support fidelity of implementation.
Research, Data, & Continuous Improvement
Partner closely with Research & Efficacy to translate findings into scalable service products.
Use a combination of accountability data, audit insights, service delivery observations, school and staff feedback, and relevant academic research and field trends to inform prioritization and product decisions.
Monitor evidence of adoption, engagement, fidelity, and practice change to assess the effectiveness of service products.
Continuously refine service products based on data, research insights, and user feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Thought Partnership
Serve as the primary product partner for Curriculum & Instruction Services across internal teams.
Act as a subject-matter thought partner in curriculum implementation, virtual pedagogy, and instructional best practices, contributing expertise to curriculum initiatives, platform/tool considerations, and policy discussions.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders about product priorities, progress, and outcomes.
Support change management efforts related to new or evolving service products.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required (Graduate degree preferred).
Experience in product management, service design, program management, or a closely related role.
Deep knowledge of curriculum-based professional learning, universal design for learning, and instructional best practices.
Experience supporting or leading instructional practice improvement in K–12 settings, ideally in virtual environments.
Demonstrated ability to assess needs, prioritize across competing demands, and translate strategy into actionable roadmaps.
Experience working cross-functionally in complex, matrixed environments.
Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Familiarity with adult learning, professional learning design, or implementation support is a plus.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $95,000 - $100,000.
