Manager - Applications Development

We are seeking a talented individual to join our CIS Tech team at Marsh. This role will be based in Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

We're seeking an experienced Developer to join our Support Operations team, responsible for translating business requirements into scalable solutions, maintaining system stability, and supporting the production environment through expert troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

We will count on you to:

• Translate business requirements into clean, maintainable application code following architectural standards
• Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive system documentation
• Design scalable solutions with consideration for performance, security, and maintainability
• Lead deployment activities during hypercare periods, ensuring smooth releases and rapid issue resolution
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
• Provide on-call support as scheduled, responding to critical production incidents
• Monitor system performance, logs, and trends to identify and prevent issues proactively
• Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and business processes
• Contribute to performance optimization and technical debt reduction initiatives
• Document learnings and sharing knowledge with the team through knowledge-sharing sessions

What you need to have:

• Minimum 5-7 years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments
• Demonstrated experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex issues
• Proven track record in multi-team collaboration and cross-functional projects
• Languages: Strong proficiency in Java and Node.js; Angular for frontend development
• Workflow Automation: Expertise with Camunda BPM or CIB7 (Business Process Management platforms)
• Databases: Production-level experience with Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL (schema design, optimization, query troubleshooting)
• Testing & Performance: Hands-on experience with load testing and application performance analysis tools
• Debugging & Diagnostics: Expert-level debugging skills; proficiency with profilers, logs, and monitoring tools
• Version Control: Advanced GitHub and Azure DevOps (ADO) experience
• Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC): Knowledge of secure coding practices, vulnerability identification, and remediation
• Project Methodologies: Demonstrated experience with Waterfall, Scrum, and Agile frameworks
• AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT for code generation)
• Additional programming languages (Groovy, Python, or scripting languages)
• API management and monitoring tools (Apigee, Datadog)
• DevOps pipeline experience (CI/CD, container orchestration)
• Experience mentoring junior developers
• Incident management and post-mortem analysis experience
