Your role and responsibilities

The Senior Cybersecurity Solution Consultant leads complex, cross-tower proposal efforts and provides leverage and expertise for our sales community. The Senior Cybersecurity Solution Consultant drives the detailed solution and planning across large, complex, multi-competency and/or international proposals, with a focus on execution. Discusses strategy and leverages technical, project, contracting, and delivery experience to manage risk.

The Senior Cybersecurity Solution Consultant is responsible for all aspects of solution development for the end-to-end solution, including:

• Leads technical solution qualification and participates in client meetings to articulate the technical benefits of the solution.

• Manages, coordinates, designs and/or leads proof of concept (PoC) and technology initiatives.

• Manages the solution lifecycle end-to-end, including cadence, status tracking, issue resolution, and client requirements gathering.

• Responsible for detailed solution development, including technical aspects, architecture, performance, hardware, software, and agents/adapters/endpoints.

• Acts as Solution Strategist and defines the value proposition (Understanding Phase).

• Oversees project and solution aspects, including project planning and costs (WBS), project management, technical execution, contract management, labor sourcing, and internal controls.

• Acts as Pursuit Manager, ensuring delivery of key solution milestones (Solutioning Phase).

• Supports contracting and internal controls, including contract development, product safety, core suppliers, legal, and tax.

• Ensures solution quality and assurance (Negotiation Phase), supporting technical, financial, pricing, and solution assurance reviews.

• Handles escalations and resolves issues impacting solution design or individual opportunities.

• Collaborates with the team to initiate delivery, with a focus on IBM and client success.

• Contributes to signings, revenue, and profit by delivering high-quality, competitive solutions in the marketplace.

• This is a demanding role best suited for individuals passionate about security, knowledgeable about solution design processes, and IBM Security Services offerings. Resources must be willing to endure the pressures of the services profession, desire to have impact within IBM, and maintain a high standard of quality to enable business success for the practice.

Required technical and professional expertise

Core Consulting

• Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.

• Ability to facilitate large groups and lead client discussions.

• Capability to shape client expectations and drive complex deals.

• Experience working in global, diverse, and matrix environments.

Security Domain

• Knowledge of IBM Security Services portfolio.

• Expertise in at least one cybersecurity domain.

• Understanding of compliance frameworks and industry standards.

Solution Design & Assurance

• Solution design for complex cybersecurity environments.

• Experience with RFPs, large deals, and contract renewals.

• Knowledge of project management and cost estimation.

• Familiarity with costing, pricing, and tools (WBS, Cost & Price Case).

• Experience with consulting, systems integration, and operations.

• Ability to solve complex client problems and build winning solutions.

• Collaboration across cross-functional and global teams.

• Experience with AI / GenAI applied to cybersecurity solutions.

Other Requirements

• Background as cybersecurity consultant or architect.

• Availability to travel (10-25%).

• Fluency in English and Spanish.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in working international roles and bids, mainly in Latin America.

• Experience in recommending and deploying information security technologies and processes.

• Experience in roles such as Account Management, Project Management, or Cybersecurity Team Leadership.
