Amazon Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning (DCCD Cx) is seeking an exceptional Commissioning Manager based in Hyderabad. As a Cluster Commissioning Manager, you will manage a fast-moving, high-performing team of commissioning professionals delivering data center capacity to support Amazon's growth in India.
The ideal candidate has experience managing a multi-city or international team of highly skilled professionals. They bring strong team and stakeholder management skills, along with a background in mechanical, electrical, construction, or project management. This foundation enables them to hire, develop, and lead a team that delivers world-class data centers. The candidate must think broadly to maximize operational efficiency and remain adaptable to change in support of broader business objectives.
Key job responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Commissioning Engineers, with broad responsibility to hire, build, and manage team performance.
- Create a vision for the team and set priorities aligned with organisational goals.
- Define the organisational structure to meet short-term and long-range business requirements.
Technical Expertise & Standards
- Understand the technology and lifecycle of data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure
- Utilise knowledge of standards, related disciplines, contractual and business acumens to develop strategies to future proof organization intent.
- Create standards around which others will operate and build consensus across the organization.
Execution & Process Improvement
- Identify key value drivers that contribute to commissioning success and lead the development of process improvement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Fix broken processes, convert proven concepts into mechanisms, and iterate existing mechanisms to improve outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams in commissioning for availability and reliability-focused initiatives.
Metrics & Performance Management
- Develop and manage metrics that quantify performance and measure the effectiveness of commissioning key value drivers.
- Establish a cadence to inspect performance, ensure compliance, provide insights, and track improvements to success.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to develop cross-functional mechanisms that improve overall organisational metrics using knowledge, experience, innovation with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Stakeholder & Financial Management
- Align cross-functionally and influence a broad spectrum of stakeholders to deliver on the quality policy.
- Communicate and provide guidance to Finance during the development and execution of capital and operational forecast.
- Lead capital and operational budget and organisational planning.
- Deliver solutions to complex problems through data analysis and forensics, communicating recommended solutions up through leadership teams.
- Experience in construction, or experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Experience in cost/benefit analysis of project proposals
- Experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, or Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)- Experience in construction, or experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
Preferred qualifications
