The Senior Sales Specialist, Histology Consumables is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, expanding market share, and leading strategic commercial initiatives for Leica Biosystems' Histology Consumables business throughout New York, NY. This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers and an expert resource for commercial partners, leveraging deep market knowledge, strategic account planning, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate growth, strengthen customer relationships, and deliver exceptional business outcomes.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and grow Leica Biosystems' Histology Consumables business across the assigned territory by developing and executing comprehensive territory and account strategies focused on revenue growth, market share expansion, competitive conversions, and long-term customer retention. Consistently achieve or exceed annual sales objectives while managing a complex portfolio of opportunities.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with laboratory leaders, Histology Managers, Pathologists, Procurement teams, and health system stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to support laboratory, operational, and business objectives.

  • Drive consumables adoption, account expansion, and strategic growth initiatives through consultative selling, business reviews, value-based customer engagement, and collaboration with Account Managers, Applications Specialists, Service Engineers, Marketing, and Commercial Leadership.

  • Leverage territory analytics, market intelligence, Salesforce.com, and commercial performance metrics to forecast results, identify growth opportunities, prioritize resources, and influence business decisions that accelerate revenue and market penetration.

  • Act as a territory subject matter expert by monitoring market trends, competitive activity, and customer purchasing behavior while sharing best practices, mentoring peers, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving continuous improvement through Danaher Business System tools and methodologies.
     

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of commercial experience or Master's Degree with 5+ years of commercial experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets, driving territory growth, and managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision makers.

  • Experience developing strategic account plans, conducting executive-level customer engagements, leading territory business reviews, and utilizing CRM and analytics tools to drive commercial performance.

  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, relationship management, and influencing skills with the ability to engage clinical, operational, financial, and procurement stakeholders.

  • Experience coaching peers, sharing best practices, leading commercial initiatives, or serving as a subject matter expert within a sales organization.
     

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record Requirements:

  • Travel: 50-75%
  • Must Possess a valid Driver’s license; and ability to travel overnight for territory coverage (if applicable) and/or for company meetings
     

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Histology, Pathology, Diagnostics, Medical Device, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Laboratory Consumables sales.

  • Experience selling into hospital, reference laboratory, academic medical center, or integrated delivery network environments.

  • Knowledge of Histology laboratory workflows, tissue processing, slide preparation, staining, or related diagnostic laboratory operations.

  • Experience utilizing value-based selling methodologies, territory analytics, and strategic account planning tools.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. This role is also eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC). The total target compensation at plan (base + SIC) is $175,000$195,000 annually. Actual SIC earnings may exceed or fall below the target based on individual sales performance. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
