Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses.

Essential Functions
Performs cleaning duties in alignment with organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.
Completes waste stream removal.
Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout Medical Center departments and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary hospital environment.
Operates assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
- Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
