Job Summary:
As a Content Specialist at Endeavor Health, your writing has a direct opportunity to impact our brand, drive growth, and deepen audience engagement. Taking a performance-based approach to shaping content, you will use strong editorial skills to plan, interview, write and optimize messaging across our owned channels—including our websites, content hubs, newsletters, patient portals and broader marketing channels. From creating resonant, in-depth pieces to delivering sharp, strategic content, you will translate complex healthcare topics into accessible, engaging content that supports our patients, team members and the communities we serve.
Building on a performance mindset, you will use search engine optimization (SEO), answer engine optimization (AEO), and digital best practices to maximize visibility and improve user experience. You will leverage audience insights, analytics and emerging AI tools to continually elevate content performance, ensuring everything you create accurately reflects the Endeavor Health brand voice, tone and strategic priorities.
Working collaboratively with peers in the Marketing & Communications department, partners across service lines and other subject matter experts to help projects move efficiently from ideation through clinical review, final distribution and measurement.
This role requires strong organizational and digital content skills, along with the agility to multitask and manage numerous initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Whether your daily focus leans toward optimizing digital user experiences or driving brand storytelling, you will deliver compelling healthcare content that meets strategic business goals.
What you will do:
- Research, write, edit and update compelling, audience-centered healthcare content for websites, content hubs, marketing channels, and other marketing and communication materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including designers, photographers, videographers, marketing partners, and clinical service lines—to translate complex healthcare information into clear, engaging, and high-impact cross-channel content.
- Support and/or lead content development and editorial planning, while managing multiple projects, timelines, deadlines and priorities, including content packaging, messaging recommendations, content hierarchy and organization.
- Manage assigned content channels and complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end as the central producer, overseeing editorial pipelines, visual asset creation (photography/design), and freelance contributors, while executing hands-on writing, editing and optimization.
- Support marketing and communications strategies and broaden brand visibility across the entire content lifecycle by leveraging analytics, keyword research, landscape analyses, and audience insights to both guide net-new content creation and systematically evaluate, audit, and rewrite underperforming assets.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate research, content ideation and SEO/AEO strategy, leveraging technology as an assistant to elevate—rather than replace—original writing and human editorial judgment.
- Format, edit and publish content within the content management system (CMS), applying on-page optimization techniques to improve page structure, metadata, headings and internal linking.
- Use project management and content workflow tools to support content production from planning through clinical review, formatting and final distribution, while identifying opportunities to optimize workflows and improve productivity.
- Champion content quality, accuracy and editorial standards (including AP style) to ensure all deliverables are emotionally resonant and reflect a consistent brand voice grounded in expertise and empathy, while helping evolve editorial standards to better serve audiences and strengthen brand consistency.
- Adapt writing style, length and structure to support multimodal content delivery, producing engaging articles, quick summaries, structured FAQs, and other web components that meet diverse user needs. Apply accessibility, readability and health literacy best practices to all content, including plain language and effective heading structure.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in writing, editing or content marketing required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience with SEO, digital marketing and content performance optimization required.
- Portfolio requirement: Candidate must submit writing samples, demonstrating compelling narrative storytelling and/or performance-driven marketing content.
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Deep knowledge of SEO and AEO, including keyword strategy, content structure and search-focused writing techniques.
- Strong understanding of digital content best practices, content marketing and storytelling across websites, email, patient portals and other communication channels.
- Knowledge of plain language principles, health literacy standards and digital accessibility best practices.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and interviewing skills, with the measurable capability to create clear, concise and engaging branded content for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating proficiency in working effectively in a complex organization with cross-functional teams and varied stakeholders (e.g. clinicians, patients, service line leadership and subject matter experts).
- Ability to translate complex medical and healthcare information into accessible, emotionally resonant language for consumer audiences.
- Ability to create content and adapt writing for wide array of content mediums and components (e.g., article, webpage, FAQs, summaries, modular web elements).
- Ability to interpret and incorporate stakeholder feedback while rigorously maintaining content quality and editorial standards.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy, editorial quality and brand consistency.
- Ideal Attributes:
- Curious and proactive about healthcare trends, audience interests and emerging digital distribution opportunities.
- Accountable and proactive, demonstrating a strong sense of personal ownership and initiative.
- Articulate and poised when communicating with patients, physicians and senior stakeholders.
- Emotionally intelligent and highly collaborative, demonstrating a professional and team-oriented approach to problem solving.
