Team/Role Overview

The Asset Servicing Custody Product team is at the forefront of developing next-generation Asset Servicing products for Citi's Global and Domestic Custody business lines. Citi provides settlement, custody, and asset servicing solutions to investor and intermediary clients through a global network spanning Asia, EMEA, and the Americas.

We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Product Manager who will champion digital innovation and data-driven product development within the global asset servicing team. This is not a traditional product role — we are looking for a change agent who brings intellectual curiosity, digital fluency, and a bias for action to every challenge.

What you’ll do

  • Work within the Custody Asset Servicing team to ensure it meets its goals as agreed with the Custody business, acting as a strategic product partner.
  • Leverage generative AI, automation tools, and intelligent platforms to accelerate product development cycles and surface insights
  • Act as a catalyst for change – identifying opportunities to digitise manual processes and modernise legacy workflows
  • Use data analytics and market intelligence to agree product development priorities as part of the annual and ongoing plan with Custody business owners.
  • Understand, communicate and implement global product strategies with primary focus on product extensions and digital capability enhancements.
  • Help define new product scope, leveraging AI-driven research tools and data analysis to identify market gaps and client needs.
  • Work closely with operations and technology to create detailed Business Requirements Documentation defining core product functionality based on client demand, market/regulatory requirements, and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Work with internal partners (risk, legal, compliance) to ensure all new product developments meet internal business approval requirements, using digital workflow tools to streamline governance.
  • Support relationship and sales teams acting as product expert when discussing new opportunities with clients, backed by data-driven insights and market analysis.
  • Support the implementation of "pilot" clients where required, ensuring documented processes and procedures are in place, with digital tracking and reporting dashboards.
  • Support key client projects by managing all aspects of Asset Servicing and Settlement testing, including identification of defects and their remediation using structured test management tools.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and client needs using digital intelligence tools, working closely with clients and the coverage organisation to translate insights into product action.
  • Review and influence/lobby local markets to follow industry standards on transparency and key data elements. Ensure Citi platforms are able to support and complement said enhancements.

What we’ll need from you      

  • Relevant experience in financial services product management, asset servicing, or custody operations.
  • Strong securities background with specific focus on asset servicing, settlement, and custody workflows.
  • Demonstrated AI & digital tool proficiency — experience using generative AI, data analytics platforms, or automation tools in a professional context is highly valued.
  • Data literacy and analytical mindset — ability to interpret data, build business cases, and communicate insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven client-facing experience — comfortable engaging directly with institutional clients and translating their needs into product requirements.
  • Background in operational processes, technology platforms, and front office activities — able to bridge the gap between business and technology teams.
  • Ability to analyse different processes and identify inherent risks, with a structured and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to influence senior stakeholders and articulate complex product concepts clearly.
  • Both a strong team player and a self-starter — thrives in collaborative environments while also driving independent workstreams.
  • Creative and resourceful problem solving — brings innovative thinking to product challenges and is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Proven project management and implementation skills — experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder product initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Certifications in Data Analytics, AI/ML, Product Management (e.g., CSPO, PMP, Google Data Analytics) as advantage
