About Boomerang
At Boomerang, part of Publicis, we believe brands are built on social. It's where culture lives. Where attention is won. And where brands get to show who they really are, connecting one-on-one with their audience.
Our clients get that. For over 15 years, we've helped both local and global brands build meaning and momentum through a smart mix of always-on content, campaigns, bold creative and production, community management, and influencer & creator marketing.
Our team of creative thinkers, trend watchers and strategists sees brands as characters, each with their own voice, attitude and role in culture. Everything we do is driven by stories that truly resonate and strategies designed to stand out where it matters most.
Overview
The role
The Creative Lead is the quality bar for the content team. You sit close enough to the work to shape it, strengthen it, and challenge it before it leaves the building. Your job is not simply to create great content yourself, but to make the entire team produce better work.
You work hand-in-hand with the Head of Content Creation to develop the creative discipline, mentor creatives at every level, and ensure that everything the team produces is strategically sound, creatively sharp, and genuinely entertaining.
Alongside your leadership responsibility within Content, you are also an active creative contributor across the wider agency. You help develop campaign ideas, creative platforms, activations, and larger integrated concepts where senior creative thinking is required. This role combines creative leadership with hands-on creative contribution.
Most importantly, you constantly ask: "Is this the best version of the idea?"
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary gatekeeper of creative quality across all content output, making sure everything meets our standard before it reaches clients or senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with creatives throughout the development process, not just reviewing at the end, sharpening concepts, strengthening storytelling and raising the level of craft as the work is being made.
- Partner with the Head of Content Creation to mentor and develop the creative team, identifying strengths, gaps and opportunities for growth in both thinking and execution.
- Build a culture where feedback is direct and constructive, turning creative reviews into moments of learning rather than approval checkpoints.
- Actively contribute ideas yourself in brainstorms, pitches and concept development on key strategic opportunities where senior creative input elevates the work.
- Stay closely connected to culture, platforms, content formats, creator trends and emerging AI-powered workflows, helping the team and the wider agency understand not just what's happening, but why it matters.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education & experience
- HBO or WO level in a relevant creative field, or demonstrable equivalent through portfolio and track record.
- Typically 7 to 9 years of experience in a creative role, including a proven track record at Senior Creative level with independent delivery and visible signs of leading others.
- Your portfolio shows you can hold the quality bar across a team's output, not just your own, and that you have mentored or sharpened other creatives' work along the way.
Competencies
- A sharp creative instinct and the taste to know when an idea is genuinely the best version of itself.
- A natural mentor. You develop other creatives through the work itself, improving it as it's being made, not just through feedback at the end.
- Comfortable holding both craft and leadership at once: hands-on enough to shape the work, senior enough to be trusted with the team's output.
- You build feedback cultures people want to be part of: direct, constructive, and focused on making the work better.
- Deep cultural fluency across platforms, content formats, creator trends and how AI-powered workflows are changing them.
- You speak and write fluent Dutch and English, and you thrive in an environment where you actively seek collaboration across disciplines.
