Manager People Operations

Poznan, PolandPosted Jul 28, 2026

About this Role

At Fandom, the Manager, People Operations (Poland) is the foundational "boots on the ground" leader responsible for managing the local People Operations team and driving all people support functions within Poland. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will serve as the definitive subject matter expert on Polish labor laws, policies, and changing regulations, requiring minimal day-to-day oversight.

In this dual-impact role, you will bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution. You will lead and develop a small team of analysts, optimize our modern HR tech stack via cutting-edge automation, and act as a critical strategic partner—lending localized HR Business Partner (HRBP) guidance and cultural context to our US-based HRBP team. This role perfectly balances high-level tactical execution, team leadership, and forward-thinking operational design.

You Will...

People Leadership & Level Execution

  • Lead and Mentor: Manage, coach, and develop a team of 2–3 People Operations Analysts, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of continuous growth.
  • Translate Strategy: Take broad global initiatives from the Sr. Director of Total Rewards & People Operations and translate them into clear, actionable local operational plans.
  • Autonomous Oversight: Independently run day-to-day Polish People Operations, resolving complex issues autonomously and escalating only highly sensitive or global-impact matters.

Polish Compliance & HRBP Partnership

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary authority on local statutory compliance, Polish labor code updates, GDPR compliance, and leave management.
  • Cross-Border HRBP Guidance: Act as a strategic consultant to the US-based HRBP team, advising them on local employment nuances, employee relations, and cultural alignment.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee localized, high-touch onboarding, offboarding, and contract management processes tailored to the Polish landscape.

HR Tech & AI Innovation

  • HRIS Management: Administer and continuously optimize Rippling as our core HRIS for the Poland team, ensuring flawless data accuracy and integrity.
  • Platform AI Utilization: Leverage embedded AI tools within platform ecosystems (such as Greenhouse's native AI features) to streamline recruiting and coordinator workflows.
  • Custom Automation: Proactively use AI models like Gemini and Claude to design, develop, and implement smart automations outside the core HR tech stack, eliminating manual administrative bottlenecks.

You Have...

  • Language Mastery: Absolute fluency in both English and Polish (written and spoken) is required to successfully interface between local teams and US leadership.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in People Operations / HR, with at least 3+ years of experience directly managing a team.
  • Regulatory Autonomy: Deep, self-directed knowledge of Polish labor laws, statutory benefits, and local compliance requirements.
  • Modern Tech Stack Literacy: Hands-on experience with modern HR systems (experience with Rippling and Greenhouse is highly preferred).
  • AI & Automation Mindset: A strong comfort level or practical experience using AI tools (Gemini, Claude, etc.) to build efficiencies, draft policies, or automate repetitive tasks.
  • Consultative Communication: Exceptional relationship-building skills; able to quickly establish trust and provide clear guidance to all levels of international management.
  • Ambiguity Tolerance: A solutions-oriented approach with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, matrixed global environment without requiring continuous direction.

Bonus Points...

  • Experience working in a global tech, gaming, or entertainment organization.
  • Experience navigating HR integration during mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
