JOB PURPOSE 

This role is responsible for leading the Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Security agenda across Unilever's Go-To-Market (GTM) and non-manufacturing operations in the Arabia region. The role ensures the protection of employees, contractors, visitors, logistics partners, and the communities in which Unilever operates while supporting the ambition of achieving Zero Harm. 

Reporting to the PTAB GTM SHE Manager, the successful candidate will act as the regional custodian for SHE governance, office security, road safety, and third-party logistics compliance. The position requires strong leadership to influence internal and external stakeholders and ensure that safety, health, environmental and security considerations are embedded in business decisions and everyday operations. 

The role offers an opportunity to partner with regional leadership teams, Workplace, HR, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Security, Legal and external partners to strengthen compliance, enhance operational excellence, and drive a strong safety culture across the GCC.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

SHE & Security Governance 

  • Lead the SHE and office security agenda across GCC non-manufacturing operations. 

  • Ensure compliance with local legislation, Unilever standards, legal registers and internal governance requirements. 

  • Maintain risk assessments, emergency preparedness programs and assurance activities. 

Office Safety & Security 

  • Manage office SHE and security controls including fire safety, emergency response, evacuation drills, first aid arrangements, contractor management, visitor management and access control. 

  • Conduct security risk assessments and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented. 

Road Safety Leadership 

  • Drive the road safety agenda for sales teams, company vehicles, shuttle services and third-party transporters. 

  • Implement journey management, defensive driving, telematics monitoring, dashcam compliance, fatigue management and speed management programs. 

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Compliance 

  • Ensure warehousing and transportation service providers comply with Unilever Minimum Mandatory Requirements. 

  • Conduct audits, gap assessments, site inspections and compliance reviews. 

  • Monitor corrective action implementation and escalate critical gaps where required. 

Incident Management & Assurance 

  • Lead investigations for incidents involving offices, road transport, logistics operations and contractors. 

  • Facilitate root cause analysis, learning deployment and verification of corrective action effectiveness. 

  • Develop compliance roadmaps and assurance plans across the region. 

Training, Communication & Engagement 

  • Design and deploy SHE and security training programs for all relevant audiences. 

  • Deliver engagement initiatives for office employees, sales teams, contractors, warehouse teams and transport providers. 

  • Promote a strong Zero Harm culture through leadership engagement and awareness campaigns. 

Performance Management 

  • Track and report SHE, security, road safety and logistics performance indicators. 

  • Monitor incident trends, audit performance, corrective action closure, telematics data and training completion. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the region. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Security Management, Logistics, or a related field. 

  • NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent professional qualification. 

  • Proven experience managing SHE programs across multiple sites and countries. 

  • Strong knowledge of office safety, contractor management, emergency response, road safety, logistics safety and security management. 

  • Experience managing warehouse and transportation safety compliance. 

  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and leadership skills. 

  • Fluent English communication skills; Arabic is preferred. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in a multinational FMCG, logistics, supply chain, transportation, retail, industrial or distribution environment. 

  • Experience managing SHE programs in non-manufacturing operations. 

  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers and contractors. 

  • Strong auditing, assurance and compliance management experience. 

  • Exposure to GCC regulatory environments and regional operations.
