Senior Buyer
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join the Data Power & Control Division, Cabinets & Containment Team in our Anaheim, CA location on a hybrid basis. The Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory materials and services. This role supports business objectives by helping ensure quality, cost-effective sourcing, timely delivery, and continuity of supply.
Main Job Duties:
Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships and monitor supplier capacity for assigned commodities to support continuity of supply.
Conduct regular meetings with key suppliers to address open issues and visit supplier locations as needed to support business objectives.
Perform supplier assessments for new suppliers and maintain supplier scorecards to support performance reviews and corrective actions.
Analyze data from planning, engineering, manufacturing, and product management to support manufacturing requirements.
Review ERP system messages and process purchase orders in accordance with company standards.
Coordinate deliveries based on supplier lead times and manufacturing requirements.
Review changes in demand and adjust schedules as needed; communicate significant supply delays to appropriate stakeholders.
Process approved price changes in accordance with company policy.
Lead sourcing-related projects, including outsourcing, insourcing, new supplier selection, and alternate sourcing initiatives.
Coordinate returns and issue resolution for non-conforming materials.
Partner with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
Participate in physical inventory and cycle count activities as needed.
Maintain purchasing controls, risk-mitigation activities, order policies, and workplace organization practices.
Maintain purchasing and manufacturing data within ERP systems and support implementation of planning system improvements as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
Required:
- Demonstrated purchasing experience supporting manufacturing or supply chain operations (typically 4 plus years of equivalent experience).
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and using ERP systems, SAP preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent annually on a national basis
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Required: Strong communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills.
- Required: Proficiency with business software tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, and related applications.
- Required: Attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities while meeting business objectives.
- Required: Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus bonus
