As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and optimize application performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js and Next.js.
  • Utilize extensive hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to enhance front-end development.
  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
  • Optimize components for maximum performance across a wide range of web-capable devices and browsers.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and best practices.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience 
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles, and experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux or Flux).
  • Strong background in front-end development and a proven track record of designing and implementing user interfaces.
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem
  • Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript (ES6+), experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js), and familiarity with RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization and familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, with strong understanding of UX principles and ability to create intuitive user interfaces.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, designers, and platform teams.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages 
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
