Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for driving product cybersecurity across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for ABB's Process Automation products. You will partner with global engineering teams to ensure security is embedded throughout product development by leading security assessments, threat modeling, secure development practices, and compliance activities. You will serve as the primary cybersecurity contact within R&D, enabling secure product releases while supporting ABB's long-term cybersecurity strategy and industry compliance initiatives.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for
- Drive product cybersecurity compliance by leading security assessments, Minimum Cyber Security Requirement (MCSR) activities, compliance reviews, and risk remediation across the product release lifecycle.
- Perform threat modeling, architecture security reviews, and security validation by leveraging methodologies such as STRIDE, while identifying vulnerabilities and recommending effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead application and infrastructure security initiatives by overseeing SAST, DAST, SCA, penetration testing, secure coding practices, container and platform hardening, and CI/CD security integration.
- Govern cybersecurity reporting, vulnerability management, code and container image integrity, and cross-functional remediation activities to ensure secure, compliant, and release-ready products.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related engineering discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in application security, product security, or secure software development within enterprise or industrial software environments.
- Strong experience in security assessments, threat modeling (STRIDE), risk analysis, and secure SDLC practices, including compliance with MCSR or similar security frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), penetration testing, vulnerability management, and security integration within CI/CD pipelines.
- Good knowledge of OWASP Top 10, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, secure coding practices, code signing, encryption, key management, and software supply chain security.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure hardening, and industrial cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443-4-1/4-2 is preferred.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills with experience collaborating across global engineering, DevOps, and product development teams.
