As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and community banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you support a spring boot-based framework (Photon) and its associated services. The Framework is used by thousands of JPMC (JPMorgan Chase) software engineers. Our product is at the heart of the cloud enabled modern microservices based applications that power our business.
Job responsibilities
- Handle the level 1 & 2 product support tickets and own them to resolution with customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners to maintain service level and delivery obligations.
- Identify and clear any roadblocks while monitoring performance and issue resolution (mainly upgrades) with internal partners giving priority to high value applications.
- Participate in office hours, drive product adoption with ownership of dashboard and generate accurate reports for senior management.
- Be an active participant in the refinement and growth of our product and services.
- Ensure training and product knowledge transfers are conducted as required.
- Contribute to product documentation, knowledge-based articles and generate usage reports using tools like Adobe analytics, ensure documentation is updated to help customers resolve issues without further escalation.
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Recommend technical and process improvements where possible to improve the overall effectiveness or marketability of a product.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field
- 5+ years’ experience in the technology field, including 2+ years in an engineering/technical development role.
- Tech support management background with strong Java and Spring knowledge.
- Hands-on knowledge/exposure to cloud computing and distributed systems tooling (e.g., Spring Boot, Kafka)
- Experience with data/platform components such as databases and middleware technologies .
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills: diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and communicate outcomes confidently
- Strong communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (verbal and written)
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
- Self-managed, able to drive multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment; strong documentation/reporting and passion for frictionless support and client experience
