Skip to main contentEnglishSign InSr. Project Accountant page is loadedSr. Project AccountantApplylocationsHouston, TX (TAS-Cullen HQ)time typeFull timeposted onPosted 30+ Days Agojob requisition idJR103039The Sr. Project Accountant, as a key participant in financial reporting, will provide timely and accurate information reporting, including responsibilities for job cost tracking, POC accounting, monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, research, communication with project managers on project status, construction draw management and audit support.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for project accounting life cycle from project creation, maintenance to completion for assigned jobs while partnering with project execution teamManage financial aspects of the POC revenue recognition process assuring compliance with related corporate policies to determine cost-to- complete, loss reserves, BIE-CIE, segmentation, etc.Audit and control financial models to provide continuous and accurate reporting on jobs in progressSupport month-end and year-end close related activities pertaining to project accountingPrepare and issue accurate and timely weekly as well as monthly project reportsMonitor & correct project cost segmentation per work breakdown structureReview and maintain all contract modifications in relation to standard TAS financial terms, customer proposals, negotiations and approvals within authorized guidelinesEnsure compliance with financial policies and guidelines, delegation of authority, deviation approval process and terms and conditions limitationsDocument and maintain financial processes and proceduresMaintain proper records and support in monthly, quarterly and yearly internal/external auditsAd hoc financial reporting and analysisLead and participate in teams to improve processes and performance (all financial or cross-functional teams), including the use of process mapsWork closely with the Application Engineering and Sales team by analyzing proposal pricing and requirements against financial hurdles to manage and minimize margin leakage between bid review and contract signatureReview, edit and assist in drafting responses to customer-proposed financial terms and conditions for strategic bid opportunitiesAdvise senior management of non-standard contractual issues which can create financial and business risks to TAS or its partnersDrive productivity and process improvements utilizing six sigma and lean methodologies and toolsProvide business with transactional and competitive feedbackTravel between manufacturing facilities/offices for meetingsAny other task and responsibility as assigned by TASJOB SKILLSThorough understanding of accounting principles and techniquesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of ERP system within project accounting moduleExperience with data driven reportingStrong time management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneouslyHigh level communication skills with the ability to work well with non-finance professionalsEDUCATION & TRAININGBusiness degree and a minimum of five (7) years of related experienceMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Financial experience in the area of project accounting using the percentage-of-completion (POC) method, construction and bid analysisDemonstrated self-confidence and a customer mindsetStrong process skills and disciplineDemonstrated prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding time constraintsHighly effective communications and influencing skillsDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to succeed in a matrix, team environmentPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Previous Project Management accounting or other technical experienceExperience in the manufacturing industry or in an engineered-to-order or project-based environmentInternational experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer.
