Software Engineer – Business Intelligence 

Experience: 3–5 Years Location: Hyderabad / India Employment Type: Full-Time 

 

Role Summary 

We are seeking a Software Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, SQL, data analytics, and cloud-based reporting solutions. The role will primarily support the migration of enterprise reports from Tableau to Amazon QuickSight and contribute to report development, testing, deployment, automation, and production support. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, datasets, analyses, and reports using Amazon QuickSight. 
  • Migrate Tableau reports, calculations, filters, parameters, and business logic to QuickSight. 
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and functions using PostgreSQL. 
  • Validate report data and reconcile outputs between source systems, Tableau, PostgreSQL, and QuickSight. 
  • Work with AWS services such as QuickSight, S3, Glue, Athena, IAM, and Amazon RDS. 
  • Configure datasets, data sources, SPICE refreshes, permissions, row-level security, folders, and namespaces. 
  • Perform unit, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of reports. 
  • Support report deployment across development, UAT, pre-production, and production environments. 
  • Contribute to CI/CD, report migration, testing, and deployment automation using GitHub Actions, Python, AWS CLI, or APIs. 
  • Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies. 
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, DevOps, database teams, and business stakeholders. 
  • Troubleshoot reporting, performance, data-quality, and production issues. 

 

Required Skills 

  • 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or data engineering. 
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases. 
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight and Tableau. 
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable database. 
  • Good understanding of data modelling, joins, aggregations, calculated fields, dashboard design, and report performance optimization. 
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and defect resolution. 
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and Agile delivery methodologies. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight, including dashboards, datasets, SPICE, direct query, calculated fields, parameters, row-level security, folders, permissions, and namespaces. 
  • Experience migrating reports from Tableau to QuickSight. 
  • Working knowledge of AWS Glue, Athena, S3, IAM, and Amazon RDS. 
  • Experience with Python, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, AWS CLI, or Infrastructure as Code. 
  • Experience with multi-tenant reporting and client-data isolation. 
  • Healthcare, health-plan, claims, care-management, or regulatory-reporting experience. 
  • Understanding of HIPAA, PHI, data privacy, and access-control requirements. 

 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
