Job Mission

As MS LO Tool Center Operations Team Lead, your first mission is to organize and prepare your team to ensure a smooth running and highly flexible operation in the Tool Cabin, with the goal to optimize tool availability for the customers in the EF/TF factory and D&E. To achieve this you will set priorities, delegate tasks, and deploy your manpower where and when it is needed. You will also identify and resolve potential bottlenecks. But this is also a position for those who want to grow in their job, because you will be expected to initiate and coordinate improvement proposals– taking the operation up to the next level of world-class performance. Job Description

The Team Lead Tool Center Operations leads a team of about 20-25 operators, across different work schedules (5-shift support schedule and day shift) with the goal of ensuring optimal tool availability for the customers in the EF/TF factory and D&E, and achieve on-target performance for delivery & return cycle times. Within the Tool Center, the Operations team is specifically responsible for the delivery of tools from the tool cabin to the factory work centers, the return of tools from the factory work centers to the tool cabin, the quality inspection, cleaning and storage of tools after usage, and when needed the repacking of tools for storage outside the cleanroom.

This Team Lead will be responsible for a team of Tool Center operators across different factories and different work schedules, working closely with the tool cabin TL’s to cover the workload peaks and flexibly balance between EF, TF and D&E tool cabins. While focusing on efficiency and output, the team lead is also expected to ensure a safe work environment and have a strong quality & continuous improvement focus. Key responsibilities include:

  • People management: ensures adequate organization and staffing to realize output at optimized cost levels. Ensure proper execution of HR policies and procedures. Coaches the team members, delegates tasks, sets priorities, solves problems and contributes to a productive working environment. Setting personal targets for your team, regularly evaluating their performance.
  • Daily Performance Management: observes and steers day to day execution through the tier 1 / tier 2 structure. Responsible for solving issues and preventing reoccurrence, and for ensuring processes are executed in line with agreed ways of working.
  • Tactical Performance Management: defines, measures and reports overall SLA / performance to internal customers and staff.
  • Safety: ensures a safe working environment for all personnel in the Tool Cabin and the cleanroom in general.
  • Quality: responsible for the quality & cleanliness of the tools that are stored in the Tool Cabin and delivered to the customer.
  • Continuous Improvement: initiates and implements organizational improvements for the Tool Center Operations teams terms of processes, tools and people capabilities. Drives improvement projects within the department and organizes opportunities for employees to contribute and execute within projects that contribute to the realizing the Tool Center mission and vision. Supports & leads in achieving LEAN improvements, including 5S+1. Coordinates and participates in cross-sector improvement projects.
  • Planning: plans on priorities as defined in SLA’s. Identifies potential bottlenecks in operations. Acts and communicates on situations with appropriate urgency and in a pragmatic way. Actively aligns with internal stakeholders (EF, Tool Registration, Tool Maintenance, Logistics Operations) to ensure optimal execution of the daily operational plan.
  • Collaboration: contributes towards effective collaboration with other Logistics Operations  departments, the EF factory, and other stakeholders.

Education

MBO+ / HBO level (logistics discipline or industrial/business engineering)

Experience

  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years in a leading or coordinating logistics position
  • Experience with a dynamic working environment
  • Flexible work ethic (your team works 24/7 and they sometimes need you after working hours)
  • Ability to manage people without always having the possibility of face-to-face contact
  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing and distribution processes
  • Knowledge of cleaning & contamination inspection best practices & ASML standards is preferred
  • Enthusiastic people manager (good interpersonal skills, motivator, team builder, coach)
  • Service oriented mindset and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Able to think in end-to-end processes and understanding the bigger picture
  • SAP (EWM) knowledge is preferred

Context of the position

Manufacturing within ASML plans and executes the assembly of NXE, NXT and XT systems, modules, parts for- and installs systems at customers’ site according to quality, cost and time criteria as agreed with our sales department and customers. Within Manufacturing, the Tool Center team is responsible for delivering the right tools at the right time and quality to the factories and ensuring optimal tool availability during the production of ASML’s lithography systems in the factory.

Working location: the Netherlands, Veldhoven

  • A certificate of conduct (‘Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag’, VOG) is required
  • Work will partially be done in cleanroom (wearing cleanroom suit)
  • The candidate will be working in day shift

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
