POSITION PURPOSE
The RN Registered Nurse Coordinator - Patient Placement is responsible for inpatient bed management and patient placement. They will supervise implementation of the flexible staffing system on a shift-by-shift basis.
This is a Contingent opportunity supporting weekend shifts.
Shifts are Twelve-hour rotating evening and night shifts.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The selected individual will facilitate patient access to the clinically appropriate level of care in collaboration with other members of the health care team through the use of clinical criteria, utilization management and managed care processes while evaluating care based upon quality, access and cost-effectiveness.
This role will also serve as a leadership resource as needed.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from accredited nursing program Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Newly hired colleagues must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years.
Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
Prior successful leadership experience, i.e. Shift Coordinator, Team Leader, committee participation, or previous Case Management experience in an Acute Care setting.
