Job Summary
The Welder II candidate will be responsible for welding, grinding, and finishing girders or other structural aspects of our building projects. Candidate needs to be a welder with experience in Stick welding, MIG welding, and TIG welding. Candidate will be required to pass a visual test of their work based on standards set at the client’s facility. This position will utilize a “flow to the work” concept. The successful Welder II will be an excellent communicator and have exceptional follow-up capabilities. The Welder II will exhibit an ownership attitude and willing to mentor those with less skills and knowledge.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.
2. Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.
3. Understand and utilize portable ladders and demonstrate proper selection of required fall protection devices.
4. Setup and Calibrate welding units, tools.
5. Read and interpret blueprints to help you with layout, fabrication, and welding of structural framework.
7. Completes general building repairs as assigned based on CMMS workorder system.
8. Performs shift "rounds" using a checklist to document performance characteristics (i.e., operation modes, pressures, temperatures, RPM, etc.) of facility systems and equipment.
9. Communicates with the site leadership or designee in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.
10. Performs PM & repairs on dock equipment – Overhead doors, dock levelers, dock locks and seals.
11. Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

Qualifications
Education
(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)
HS Diploma or equivalent preferred or combination of experience and training.
Business Experience
(Prior years’ work/related experience)
3 or more years mechanical experience, including iron work, and welding required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver’s license required. Fork truck operator’s license, JLG operator’s license preferred.
Language Skills
1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.
2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
3. Ability to effectively present information in one–on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
