Position Overview
As a Category Supplier Manager supporting Technology Development (TD) Capital Equipment, you will lead sourcing strategies for critical semiconductor equipment that enables next-generation technology development. You will collaborate with engineering, technology development, supply chain, and supplier partners to support first-of-a-kind (FOAK) programs, improve cost of ownership, and strengthen supplier capabilities. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the organization, offering the opportunity to influence capital investment decisions, technology roadmaps, and long-term supplier strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that align supplier capabilities with technology and business objectives
- Lead first-of-a-kind (FOAK) sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluation, selection, business awards, and supplier commitment planning
- Drive cost-of-ownership (CoO) improvements through data-driven analysis, strategic negotiations, and capital efficiency initiatives
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and competitive benchmarks to inform sourcing and investment decisions
- Lead complex commercial negotiations involving pricing, contracts, technology evaluations, and long-term supplier agreements
- Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that accelerate technology readiness and support business growth
- Establish supplier performance frameworks, including scorecards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement plans
- Partner with engineering, technology development, operations, and supply chain teams to align sourcing strategies with technical and business requirements
- Facilitate supplier governance activities, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), annual performance reviews, and executive engagements
- Identify and mitigate supply, cost, and technology risks while ensuring continuity and long-term supplier success
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, supplier management, process development, equipment engineering, or a related subject area
- Experience developing and performing strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier management programs
- Experience leading supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial business agreements
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations
- Proven experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver business results
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or equivalent)
- Experience in the semiconductor industry, including capital equipment sourcing or supplier management
- Experience applying cost analysis methodologies such as should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO), or capital investment analysis
- Experience leading FOAK sourcing initiatives, supplier development programs, or technology evaluations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence technical teams, business leaders, and executive partners
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and getting results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience leading supplier performance improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business impact
- Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
