Job Duties
- Coordinate the daily operations for the I-beam line.
- Coordinate the training of department employees.
- Work with the Production Manager and Supervisors on planning and production matters.
- Assist department employees in their tasks as necessary.
- Set up and run the different machines in the I-beam line work group.
- Operate a vertical band saw (Carbide Slide/Circular Saw) to cut I-beams to length.
- Run beams through a flow-through shot blaster.
- Operate a multi press for straightening operations.
- Run a CNC plasma/flame-cut operation for holes and notches.
- Run a CNC mill for holes and notches.
- Operate a robot welder to weld beam roller studs.
- Inspect parts to print specifications.
- Operate a pallet truck and tow tractor to move work in and out of work area.
- Use a computer to check and enter information into the ERP system.
Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Read blueprints, basic math, read inspection gages, basic computer skills
- High levels of social interaction
- Per 8 hr. shift (stand/walk 7 hrs., sit 1 hr.), continuously(push/pull), frequently (work with arms outstretched), occasionally (reach above shoulder level, work above chest level, torque, bend, balance, and climb to step into lift trucks). Occasional lifting and carrying (occasionally from 0 to 50 lbs..). Must be able to hear, see, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a noisy environment that includes exposure to heat, dust, weld flash, weld fumes, vibrations, solvents, grease, and oil. Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
