Collections Specialist II
Job Description:
Summary
To be successful in this Collections Specialist role, candidates should bring hands-on collections experience within a SaaS, FinTech, or enterprise technology environment, including responsibility for managing large customer portfolios with Accounts Receivable balances in the millions of dollars. Responsibilities
- Manage collections activities for an assigned portfolio of enterprise SaaS and/or FinTech customers, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices and achievement of monthly cash collection targets across a high-value portfolio totaling millions of dollars in Accounts Receivable.
- Review and analyze Accounts Receivable Aging Reports; proactively contact past-due customers and execute escalation and service hold processes as required.
- Perform customer account reconciliations, including procurement portals such as Ariba and Coupa, to identify and resolve root causes of non-payment.
- Resolve billing and contract disputes in coordination with internal stakeholders to remove payment barriers while preserving customer relationships.
- Maintain accurate and complete account records in Workday; prepare Accounts Receivable and collections reports for the assigned portfolio as directed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, accelerate cash flow, and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Leverage prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise customer portfolios in complex SaaS and/or FinTech environments to drive collection performance and cash flow objectives.
- Provide backup support to colleagues and contribute to team projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of collections experience within a SaaS, FinTech, enterprise software, or enterprise technology organization managing customer portfolios with Accounts Receivable balances in the millions of dollars.
- Demonstrated success managing and collecting on large, complex enterprise customer portfolios with multi-million-dollar exposure.
- Proficiency with an ERP system; Workday Finance strongly preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of the order-to-cash cycle and foundational GAAP concepts.
- Ability to review and interpret customer contracts in relation to financial obligations and payment terms.
- Experience reconciling customer procurement portals, including Ariba and/or Coupa.
- Ability to embrace and utilize AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve operational effectiveness, automate repetitive tasks, enhance data analysis, and drive continuous process improvement within finance, accounts receivable, or collections functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
- 3-5 years of customer-facing or account management experience in a service-oriented environment.
- Prior experience in the software or professional services industry.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency Statement:
US Base Salary Range: $47,000.00 - $61,100.00Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.
In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
