Job Description

Summary:
Manages the day-to-day operations for the team and the resources and workload of direct reports. Tracks project timelines, budgets, and resource needs. Effectively ensures delivery across all project requirements. Serves as a key contact for client interactions. Provides technical leadership across departmental processes and projects. Identifies and participates in the development of needed tools and process improvements to increase efficiencies within the project and the team.

Essential Functions:
• Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
• May perform and/or leads the design, building and testing project databases & edit checks.
• May performs and/or leads the defining and importing of data into the system.
• May performs and/or leads the defining, creating and testing of listings for data review and performing programming activities in line with project requirements.
• Actively works to increase knowledge base and professional skills.
• Contributes to the creation and validation of reporting tools / standard applications / enhanced processes, and works with IT in troubleshooting, reporting and resolving system issues.
• Acts as a representative of the department to other divisions.
• Assists in bidding and business development activities, as required.
• Participates in the development and implementation of processes, procedures and training for the group.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 7+ years) & 2+ year of leadership responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Strong written, verbal and computer skills
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and cross functionally with a positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and the ability to mentor and work well with others
• Demonstrated initiative and motivation
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicting deadlines; capable of negotiating schedule changes in response to project demands
• Advanced knowledge of relational database systems (RDBMS) and structure
• Advanced knowledge of programming tools SAS, SQL, Crystal Reports, and JReview
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
• Capable of attaining, maintaining and apply a working knowledge of GCPs and applicable SOPs
• Demonstrated ability to make recommendations for process development and improvement
• Strong attention to detail and capable of identifying and effective resolving technical problems
• Awareness of project budget creation, including modifying for project updates
• Delivery and quality driven.

Manager role with significantly larger management scope (e.g. global or regional responsibilities or multiple departments) OR mastery of manager skills and responsibilities as demonstrated by consistent, multi-year successful performance. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees.

Working Conditions and Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.
