Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This role works within the Operations Control team which is part of the Middle Office department of Wealth Management Asia. Responsible for timely and accurate creation of KPI and Operations Control Reports according to defined policies and procedures, and handling queries from internal and external parties.

WORKING HOURS : 9.00AM -6.00PM

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1. Client First & KPI

  • Responsible for timely and accurate creation of KPI and Operations Control Reports according to defined policies and procedures

  • Liaison with front office private banking teams, internal departments and different operations teams for service and investigation regarding execution and settlement of trades, delivery of securities, corporate action, payments and receipt of funds, fees, renewal and repayment of loans, documentation scanning and various account and control maintenance functions.

  • Maintain consistency with global policy and regulatory standards and actively address control aspects for the Private Banking front office and operations activities to ensure best practice is in place

  • Proactively identify and monitor group service quality performance gaps/trends against established SLA standards.

  • Provides advice and counsel for service quality efficiency and effectiveness and client care opportunities.

  • Analyzes root cause and recommends solutions/action plan.

  • Ensure that all transactions and fundings are processed in accordance to bank rule, circulars, procedures and local requirements

  • Manage requests and queries within stipulated timeframe

  • Review Operations policies and procedures to identify and quantify gaps and develop and implement action plans to bring in line with global and WM standards and in compliance with local regulations

  • Manage task segregation amongst team members

2. Risk Awareness and Escalation

  • Adherence to all policies and procedures in place

  • Query investigation and escalation

  • Demonstrate clear understanding and adherence to WM escalation protocol.

  • Act as an escalation point for Private Banking front office teams, functional teams and Head Office areas for problem resolution

  • Ensure the management are aware of significant exposures to risk and contribute to the improvement of control and governance systems and processes, operational efficiency, improvement in service standards, good quality control on operational and transactional risks in order to protect the interests of clients and the Company.

3. Change Management & Transformation

  • Review process flows and initiate process improvements via change requests, defects

  • Take lead in projects, strategic initiatives and testing

  • Work with the various business units and functional heads to actively implement and report on adherence and remediate, where necessary, areas that are deficient or require change management assistance

4. Professionalism and Growth

  • Demonstrate clear understanding and apply the RBC Values, cultures and leadership model in all daily dealings

  • Active enrollment in courses offered by Learning & Development team and to apply knowledge gained in day to day processing

  • Provide relief support and other duties assigned and cross train on all functions performed with the team and across department

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

MUST-HAVE:

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience within a Settlements team/department

  • Good working knowledge of global practices in relation to corporate actions

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details 

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Committed and responsible with an attitude to ensure accuracy and completeness 

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Familiarity with Avaloq system, Omgeo CTM & Alert, Bloomberg
