An Intern is an entry-level position in software development, primarily supporting the team in building, testing, and maintaining applications or software systems. Our BA Practice works with our clients’ executive leadership teams to achieve their business objectives through innovative solutions that align people, processes and technology. The role typically involves working under the guidance of senior developers or project managers to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience with programming languages, tools, and frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
Read and analyze technical documents: Refers to the skill of carefully reviewing, understanding, and interpreting detailed technical information provided in documentation. This may include specifications, design documents, API documentation, software manuals, user guides, or troubleshooting guides.
Test documentation (Unit testing): Refers to the process of creating, organizing, and delivering materials that detail testing procedures, results, or instructions, often for software or system testing purposes. These documents and videos are used by developers, testers, stakeholders, and sometimes end-users to understand testing processes, replicate tests, or verify software functionality.
Instructional Videos: Videos that visually demonstrate the steps involved in setting up, executing, or troubleshooting tests, often with screen recordings and commentary. These videos are beneficial for showing complex procedures or tests that are challenging to describe in writing.
Use of best practices: Adoption of standard techniques, guidelines, and methods widely recognized as the most effective way to achieve desired results within a field. Best practices ensure quality, efficiency, and consistency, while also minimizing risks and errors.
QA team communication: Refers to the processes and practices used by Quality Assurance (QA) teams to share information, updates, and feedback among themselves and with other stakeholders, such as developers, product managers, and project leads. Effective communication is crucial for ensuring that quality standards are met, issues are resolved promptly, and the overall testing process aligns with project goals.
Estimate time for development: Analyze and calculate how long it will take to complete a specific development task or requirement. Accurate time estimates help teams allocate resources effectively, identify dependencies, and track progress against project goals.
Request feedback about status of a requirement: Reach out to team members, stakeholders, or project managers to get updates on the progress of a specific project requirement. This step ensures clear communication, aligns expectations, and helps identify potential issues or delays early on. (developer must be the owner of each requirement until this is in QA passed).
Update troubleshooting guide: Improve an existing troubleshooting document to ensure it is accurate, comprehensive, and relevant for technical purposes. A troubleshooting guide provides step-by-step instructions to help team members diagnose and resolve specific issues with a product, system, or service.
