  • $32.57 per hour with full-time hours and overtime opportunities 
  • Shift Premium  
  • Night: $0.80 
  • Sunday: $2.25

Responsibilities

  • Jockey tractors, trailers, trucks to and from the docks and compound areas 
  • Safely and efficiently manage traffic flow in the yard 
  • Co-ordinate with drivers (common carrier and PBC) to check in/check out at appropriate door 
  • Ensure PBC trailers in the yard are in assigned spots 
  • Communicate loading information to and from the Delivery/Production Departments and  
  • Shipper/Receiver/Checker 
  • Reports tractor/trailer damages/deficiencies to the fleet department 
  • Red tag tractors/trailers as required 
  • Work within a team environment 
  • Complete and hand in circle check report at the beginning of the shift 
  • Follow Control & Compliance Rules and Regulations 
  • Maintain work area in a neat and tidy condition 
  • Ensure all assigned tractors are attached to their respective trailers every day to get the delivery drivers set up for their day 
  • Starting all tractors in the winter 
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

 

Physical demands and working conditions:  

  • You can lift/carry large loads up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout an 8-10 hour day 
  • You can maneuver large loads by hand and with use of various aides, requiring a wide range of physical agility, flexibility, and strength 
  • You will be exposed to a variety of weather and temperature ranges, and you will safely operate the equipment during poor road and driving conditions 

 

Qualifications

  
  • A valid Class AZ driver’s license required with a proper understanding of MTO regulations and the HTA as it pertains to commercial drivers. 
  • A clean abstract as well as a proven safe driving record. 
  • Occasionally pushing/pulling/lifting  
  • Frequent bending and reaching above the shoulder 
 Additional skills you may have (not required, these are assets) 
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and overtime 
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
