This position under Services Brazil Controls & Regulatory Management group is responsible for supporting and advisory the day-to-day business execution needs related to the Operational Risk and Control Environment for Services Brazil, as part of Citi’s first line of defense.

This role includes governance related to matters that enables an effective risk & control identification, mitigation, monitoring, and escalation ensuring robust control environment, supporting new activities, coordinating specialized processes, and providing critical operational oversight through insightful metrics and analysis.

A key aspect of the role is robust, proactive risk management and regulatory change management compliance across Services Brazil's product and operations. In addition, act as a primary point of contact for Operational Leadership regarding control-related matters, also acting as an escalation point for operational control issues and facilitate timely resolution.

Key Role responsibilities among others are:

  • Risk and Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Oversight
  • Robust, proactive risk management and regulatory compliance across SVCS Brazil's product operations
  • Strategic oversight, comprehensive process optimization, and robust risk management
  • Data Privacy Clearance Business Initiatives Coordinator for Services Brazil Operations
  • Lead actions to expand and increase Control Culture within Services
  • Reviewing end-to-end processes, meticulously analyzing existing controls, and providing expert guidance on policies and procedures within Operations Controls & Regulatory Management
  • Support working Groups and Meetings related to Controls & Regulatory Management including the preparation and presentation of reports with overall indicators, trends and Risk and Control environment
  • Support the decision process of which material items need to be reported and escalated to key committees (e.g.: Local CCC, RCF), boards, regulators, or external auditors
  • Country Operations leadership point of contact regarding control-related matters, also acting as an escalation point for operational control issues and facilitate timely resolution
  • Co-lead with Operational Managers the best course of action for identified Issues, Key Risks and Emerging Risks.
  • Act as a key point of contact with Operational stakeholders for control matters and coordination of strategic priorities implementation
  • Act as Business Liaison/Coordinator on internal audits, compliance and regulatory examination reviews during the planning, fieldwork, and closing. Support the business on reviewing and responding to findings issued by reviewers
  • Identification of process improvements and/or new processes that should be implemented to mitigate operational risks including coordination of Manual & Bespoke Process
  • Oversight of Services Technology Risk & Control Environment
  • Ensure that External events, Key, Emerging and Significant Residual Risks are kept current, monitored, trended and act as appropriate for continual improvements and proper escalation process
  • Monitoring of Operational/Fraud Losses, Near Miss and PLE events ensuring corrective and preventive actions are set to avoid reoccurrence
  • Collaborate with 2nd line of defense areas (AML, Risk, ICRM, ORM, Fraud) and provide the adequate support and guidance to Product to Operations team to stay in Compliance with Policies and Procedures
  • Manage an effective communication to ensure Stakeholders stay abreast of relevant organizational, regulatory, operational and process driven changes
  • Act with Regional and Global partners to ensure standardization of processes, risks, and controls for the Operations

Recommended Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or other control function
  • Experience in assessing risks and evaluating controls in collaboration with various teams.
  • Proven ability to design and lead projects to enhance processes.
  • Knowledge of evolving requirements and their impacts.
  • Expertise in maintaining a robust Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) in compliance with risk policies.
  • Proficiency in applying requirements and implementing compliance policies.
  • Experience in liaising with Compliance Assurance and Internal Audit for issue resolution.
  • Ability to maintain oversight through metrics review and corrective action plans tracking.
  • Proven ability in preparing presentations on developments and emerging risks for senior management.
  • Experience serving as a primary contact for audit groups.
  • Ability to assess risk in business decisions, comply with laws and regulations, and adhere to policies.
  • Risk management skills for facilitating committee meetings and assessing compliance risks.
  • Expertise in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, informed by the latest field trends.
  • Proficiency in audit processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Capability to enhance, automate, and simplify control processes.
  • Strong leadership and ethical financial management skills, with a knack for creative problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of firm-specific policies and procedures.
  • Advanced skills in managing audit processes and procedural changes.
  • Ability to evaluate risks and manage control issue reporting, with responsibility over technical strategy.
  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder liaison, alignment, and strategic drive.

  • Bachelor's/University degree
  • English fluency is required
