This is a strategic role built for someone with deep, real-world knowledge of the UK legal market - not for a career product marketer. We're looking for someone who has lived and breathed law firms: who understands how fee earners, partners, and legal ops teams actually work, what keeps them up at night, and how legal businesses win and lose clients.

As Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will own and be responsible for the creation and delivery of the product marketing strategy for the Legal Commercial Unit - building a long-term strategic plan and associated budgets that delivers support the Commercial Unit and its Field Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams through focused go-to-market activity and sales enablement tools. Using our Product Marketing Framework, you'll ensure messaging, value propositions, customer-facing collateral, sales enablement tools, and in-product messaging across our range of legal products stay current and reflective of the market and customer demands. The role carries Product Marketing ownership of the Legal market, spanning multiple products.

You'll sit alongside our Legal Senior Leadership Team as a strategic advisor, shaping how we talk about our products by grounding every value proposition, competitive position, and customer narrative in genuine legal sector insight. Product marketing craft - messaging frameworks, positioning models, sales enablement structures - is something we'll teach you. Legal expertise is not something we can teach; it's the reason you're in the room.

This is an individual contributor role. There is no people management responsibility - your impact comes from the quality of your thinking and the strength of your relationships across the Legal Commercial Unit, not from running a team.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Legal SLT, bringing sector-grounded insight into product direction, positioning, and go-to-market decisions
  • Own and deliver a strategic marketing plan that integrates tightly into the roadmap, the Commercial Units strategic intent, the sales targets and the field marketing campaign plan for the current Financial Year and beyond
  • Own competitive intelligence and strategic profiling for the legal market - know exactly who the competitors are and what genuinely sets us apart
  • Build value propositions rooted in real customer jobs-to-be-done: what legal professionals do day to day, and how our products make that easier
  • Turn features into narratives - tell stories that show customers their problem is shared and solvable, not just a list of functionality
  • Write and produce customer-facing content and collateral (product pages, email copy, sales materials) that Field Marketing and Sales teams build campaigns around
  • Work directly and regularly with customers - the expectation is to spend as much time as possible talking to the market, not just researching it from a desk
  • Sit within the product development team, participating in sprints and shaping the roadmap with frontline legal insight
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across Marketing, Product Management, Sales, and the Legal Commercial Unit's senior leadership

What You Will Have

Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.

  • A genuine UK legal sector background - for example, in-house at a law firm, legal business development, legal customer support/solutions, product owner or a similar client-facing legal role
  • Exposure to product marketing, product management/ownership, marketing, sales, or revenue enablement - from within a legal context
  • Familiarity with go-to-market concepts, even informally
  • First-hand understanding of how law firms and legal teams operate, buy, and make decisions
  • Emerging leadership skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Good presentation skills
  • Innovative thinker
  • Creative, proactive and organised
  • Confident and enthusiastic showing a strong ability to learn and expand the role
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn expertise into clear, compelling narratives
  • Collaborative working style
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and speaking as a credible voice on the legal market, internally and externally
  • Interpersonal understanding
  • Flexible and open to change
