Learn more at li.me.Lime is hiring a EMEA Legal Director, Employment Law to join our Legal team.In this role, you will serve as a senior legal partner to the People team, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders on complex employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions. This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced employment lawyer who can provide pragmatic day-to-day advice while also building scalable legal infrastructure for a high-growth, global company.The ideal candidate brings deep employment law expertise, sound judgment, and substantial experience advising on workforce classification and contingent workforce structures. This person should be comfortable operating independently, managing sophisticated matters from strategy through execution, and partnering closely with stakeholders across Legal, People, Operations, Finance, and Product.This is a unique opportunity to help shape Lime’s global employment law strategy as the company continues to scale.This is a remote position with a preference for candidates residing in London, Paris, Berlin, and Munich to maintain effective collaboration across teams.What You’ll Do:Serve as the senior legal partner for HR, People, and business leaders on a wide range of day-to-day employment law matters across multiple jurisdictionsAdvise on complex employment issues, including employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, accommodations, leaves, works council matters, workforce classification, TUPE-related issues, reorganizations, and other sensitive workplace mattersLead employment-related disputes, litigation, agency charges, audits, inspections, and regulatory matters, including management of outside counselPartner cross-functionally on the design, implementation, and ongoing assessment of workforce structures, operational practices, and contracts.Draft, review, and localize employment agreements, handbooks, separation agreements, policies, and other employment-related documentsCollaborate with stakeholders on compensation and benefits programs, pay equity and pay transparency initiatives, including EU Pay Transparency Directive compliance and readiness, business restructurings, market expansion, and other strategic initiatives with employment law implicationsMonitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise the business on changes that may affect company practices across jurisdictionsDevelop and implement scalable policies, playbooks, and processes that improve consistency, reduce risk, and support efficient growthAbout You:J.D. or equivalent law degree and active bar membership in good standing10+ years of relevant employment law experience, ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house experienceDeep practical knowledge of employment law across multiple jurisdictions, including experience managing cross-border issuesSignificant experience advising on workforce classification, contingent workforce models, independent contractor issues, and related litigation, investigations, or regulatory enforcementStrong experience handling employment litigation, agency matters, internal investigations, and escalated workplace issuesDemonstrated ability to operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage a high-volume, high-complexity workloadExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidanceStrong business judgment and a solutions-oriented...
