We celebrate the unique perspectives and experiences that make our team extraordinary.Join us as a Data Engineer (Payments / Orchestration) on our mission to turn payments into possibilities!Data Engineer (Payments / Orchestration)You will own the foundation of our payments data platform, ensuring that transaction data is reliable, consistent, and production-grade from ingestion through consumption.This role is responsible for building and maintaining high-quality data pipelines, enforcing data contracts, and ensuring event integrity across the system.This is not a reporting role. You are responsible for making sure the data exists, is correct, and can be trusted at scale.We are a high-velocity team. You are expected to leverage AI tools to accelerate development, analysis, and problem-solving.How You Will Make an Impact:Build and maintain reliable data pipelinesDesign and operate ETL / ELT pipelines that process high-volume transaction dataEnsure data is delivered accurately and on time across all downstream systemsEnsure database performance and reliabilityManage and optimize databases for performance, scalability, and uptimePrevent bottlenecks and ensure systems can handle production loadEnforce data contracts and schema consistencyDefine and enforce schemas across services and pipelinesEnsure event integrity and prevent breaking changes across systemsImprove data reliability and observabilityImplement monitoring, alerting, and logging across data systemsDetect and resolve data issues before they impact the businessEnable event traceability and consistencyEnsure events can be traced end-to-end across systemsSupport debugging and root cause analysis for data discrepanciesRaise the bar on engineering velocityLeverage AI tools like OpenAI Codex, Cursor, and Claude (or equivalent) to accelerate development and debuggingImprove speed of delivery without compromising reliabilitySkills you will have fine-tuned:Designing and operating production-grade data pipelinesBuilding scalable ETL / ELT systems for high-throughput event dataManaging dependencies, failures, and recovery strategiesDatabase performance and system reliabilityTuning databases for performance and cost efficiencyDesigning systems that remain stable under loadSchema design and data contract enforcementCreating robust schemas that evolve safely over timePreventing downstream breakages through strong contract disciplineData observability and incident responseImplementing monitoring systems that surface issues earlyDebugging complex, distributed data...
