Job Description

Purchasing Manager key responsibility includes all aspects of the operational procurement activities for direct materials at RA manufacturing plants including cost effectiveness improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure deliveries of the products according to requirements and drive improvement in this area. Lead disciplined operational rhythm to mitigate purchasing related issues. Responsible for continues improvement of purchasing process. Supports Strategic Sourcing in strategy execution.Monitor operational objectives (KPI's) related to supplier performance (On Time Delivery, Average Weighted Lead Time, Past Dues). Drive Supplier Performance Improvement Reviews for suppliers identified that are the most problematic and require Supply Management focus. Establish relationships with Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Quality and lead completion of all purchasing activities required for meeting schedules and project initiatives. Maintain ongoing communications with Stakeholders Identify and drive cost improvement initiatives based on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) concept. Secure Purchasing Data accuracy on the continued basis. Drive Purchasing Process continued improvement through elimination of variation and standardization of multiple activities. Lead improvement projects focusing on Business Unit/Customer, across the Markets being accountable for deadlines, results and metrics Lead the operational rhythm (Cadence) to ensure timely resolution of all purchasing related issues, such as past due delivery execution, critical parts deliveries, affecting customer satisfaction. Automatize and improve ordering process by implementing tools and methods (e.g.EDI, Supplier Network Collaboration) Provide on-the-job training and coach subordinated staff on Procurement, including the resolution of complex procurement requests and issues. Support Strategic Sourcing in executing strategy; establish proper communication to secure suppliers' awareness of Rockwell Automation performance requirements. Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws, Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. Conducts tasks in accordance with them.

Ensure work discipline and effectiveness within assigned area Support career development of the supervised employeesLead direct reports to ensure full understanding of team-defined procurement objectives. Accountable for the development of all direct reports as well as identifying talents within his team. Balance department workload ensuring priorities and create the sense of the urgency when required. Routinely evaluate performance of direct reports and provide feedback.

The essentials - you will have:

University degree in the relevant field of supply chain / engineering.

Five years of supply-chain or operational procurement experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment.

The preferred - You might have:

Demonstrated ability to manage cross functional and multi-cultural and dispersed teams. Demonstrated excellent understanding of procurement, MRP, inventory, and production principles. SAP / Six Sigma training desirable. Good presentation and communication skills (written and verbal). Fluent English;.
