We offer comprehensive testing for air, water, soil, sediment, tissue, and waste, covering a wide range of analytes including PFAS, metals, VOCs/SVOCs, dioxins/furans, radiochemicals, and more.Job DescriptionEurofins Environment Testing Northwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician I in Tacoma, WA.The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing’s Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:o Aliquot sampleso Spike and trace sampleso Prepare reagentso Bottle sampleso Prepare concentrationso Separationo Sonicationo Liquid rack set upResolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.Stocks laboratory supplies.Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.Assists other laboratory areas as needed.The ideal candidate would possess:General knowledge of chemistry and/or general scienceBasic mathematical skillsStrong problem solving skillsAbility to learn quickly and multi-taskWork independentlyWork within time constraintsStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesQualificationsHigh school diploma requiredDegree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or equivalent preferred, but not required Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25lbs Must be available for overtime and weekends when required.High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experienceAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.Additional InformationThis is a full-time temporary (90 days) position Monday to Friday 3 pm to 11 pm with possibility of overtime &...
