Position Description:

Responsible for equipment moves and logistical support for commissioning, deployment and decommissioning of laboratory assets. Also responsible for providing response to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems. 

 Essential Functions:

  • Moves laboratory equipment and supplies between multiple buildings, at the direction of the ALM team and management, using a variety of material handling equipment
  • As required, installs seismic bracing to restrain equipment against movement during earthquakes
  • Performs patch-and-paint repairs to walls, occasional plumbing troubleshooting and repair including sinks, disposals, grease traps, toilets, urinals and drinking fountains
  • Occasional assembly of furniture and support fixtures for laboratory operations
  • Utilizes strong computer skills to complete and document work as well as communicate with customers and the Client.
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, site policies and industry standards.
  • Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
  • Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer. 
  • Provides adequate response to a variety of facility issues to include plumbing, electrical, roofing and other carpentry emergencies.
  • Must have ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Required Education / Experience:

  • Education: High School graduate or GED. 
  • Experience: Driving medium-size motor vehicles (box trucks), operating pallet jacks, forklifts and other lifting equipment
  • Driver License and clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as required during shift.
  • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the facility for shift.

Estimated compensation for this position:

58,240.00 – 62,400.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
