Electrical Engineering Technician

If you enjoy building electrical systems and working hands-on with new technology, this role is for you. As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you'll work alongside engineers to build prototype electrical systems, support testing activities, and help bring new products from concept to reality. This is an opportunity to expand your technical skills while supporting innovative cooling and enclosure solutions.
** This is a full time, hourly position and you will work on-site 5 days/week in Anoka, MN, with core hours being from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. **
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Build prototype wire harnesses from engineering documentation, including wire cutting, termination, connector installation, and light soldering activities.
- Assemble and install electrical systems and components used in prototype and pre-production product builds.
- Partner closely with engineers to diagnose wiring, connection, and component-related issues during product development.
- Perform hands-on electrical testing and diagnostics using multimeters, continuity testers, power supplies, and related equipment.
- Manage inventory of prototype electrical components and materials to ensure engineers have the parts needed to support development programs.
- Support implementation of 5S and Kanban initiatives to improve organization, material availability, and overall readiness of the electrical engineering workspace.
YOU HAVE:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, trade school training, or equivalent experience in electrical technology, electronics, mechatronics, industrial electricity, or a related field.
- Experience building, assembling, modifying, or testing wire harnesses, electrical systems, control panels, or related assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and engineering prints.
- Understanding of basic electrical theory including voltage, current, resistance, continuity, and circuit operation.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment and basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving and supporting engineering projects.

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
