Sr Paralegal

In this role, you will impact the legal team by providing critical support in managing legal documentation, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in supporting our legal operations and contributing to the overall success of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and manage assigned patent portfolios proactively monitoring deadlines and following up with US and foreign counsel to ensure all due dates are met in a timely manner
- Maintain current patent-to-product matching for assigned portfolios; periodically update virtual patent marking webpage; work with business/marketing teams to ensure required wording for patent marking is included on product labels
- Support IP counsel and product development teams in the New Product Development process, including preparing required documentation for gate reviews
- Support IP enforcement matters, including conducting searches and drafting correspondence
- Review outside counsel bills for accuracy as requested
- Prepare outside counsel IP legal budget; monitor spend, report unusual activity to business/IP counsel and participate in finance hosted meetings
- Generate report of IP metrics for leadership; circulate to leadership according to agreed schedule
- Calculate patent term and patent expiration dates as requested
- Audit outside counsel compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines, including compliance with formalities checklists
- Identify and implement tools, process enhancements to drive operational efficiency and quality within the function
- Participate in weekly prosecution calls for assigned portfolios; coordinate with relevant internal and external parties as required actions to implement searching, filing, and maintenance decisions; keep stakeholders apprised of decisions
- Assist with freedom to operate projects, M&A related activity and other patent-related projects
- Support Assistant General Counsel – IP with maintenance of inventory of IP related licenses; audit business/finance actions for both Solstice and counterparty compliance with license payment and other obligations
- Support various special IP projects, including patent recognition events
- Prepare presentations and other documentation required for internal/external meetings, including providing administrative support as required
YOU MUST HAVE
- 7+ years' experience as a patent paralegal in a corporate or law firm environment supporting patent prosecution functions, including (I) preparing and filing US and PCT patent applications, as well as working with foreign agents to file non US applications, (ii) preparing formal documents such as Declarations and Assignments; (iii) supporting prosecution of worldwide patent applications, (iv) docketing all matters in the filing, prosecution and maintenance of patent applications throughout the world
- Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, CoPilot), SharePoint, AI and with USPTO, EPO and WIPO systems
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position is $101589-$126987. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
