Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to support the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments across the business. Reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with both internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure payment processes run smoothly while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
The ideal candidate will be organised, dependable, and comfortable working autonomously within a high-volume environment. You will enjoy managing your own workload, building positive working relationships, and contributing to a supportive and diverse team that values collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and within required timeframes.
- Reconcile creditor statements and investigate payment, invoice, and account discrepancies.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure supporting documentation is maintained in accordance with company requirements.
- Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox, responding to supplier and stakeholder enquiries promptly.
- Process utility invoices and ensure payment obligations are met in line with agreed schedules.
- Enter and maintain accurate cost coding and financial records within company systems.
- Support reporting activities and assist with ad hoc finance administration tasks.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar finance administration position.
- Experience working in a high-volume transaction processing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
Desirable:
- Experience within facilities management, property, corporate real estate, or a similarly complex industry.
- Experience working with ERP or finance systems.
- MRI experience.
- Exposure to compliance, quality, and process-driven environments.
- Qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.

To support your growth, this position will initially be based from our Adelaide CBD office, conveniently located close to public transport and offering end-of-trip facilities.
Following training, you will enjoy a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
