Who We AreIntegrated Medical Systems, Inc. (IMS), founded in 1994, is one of the nation's top distributors within the alternate site market. We strive to continually exceed expectations by cultivating valued partnerships and delivering on our commitment to always put our customers first. We offer flexible rental and purchase options for a vast line of disposable and rental products specific to infusion, respiratory, enteral feeding, oncology, and cleanroom.

People at IMS are innovative, dedicated, and experienced to enhance our customer’s experience from start to finish. By joining us, not only will you be working alongside industry experts and thought leaders, but also with a company recognized for its dedication to employee growth and well-being.

Role OverviewIMS is seeking a visionary, experienced Solutions Architect to design, build, and optimize the network infrastructure, data strategy, and cloud systems powering our core enterprise ecosystem. In this role, you will lead our organization through digital transformation and cloud adoption, bridging three distinct pillars: our Epicor 21 ERP environment, our proprietary internal platform (iQuest), and our emerging suite of AI agents.

You will be responsible for creating the blueprints and roadmaps for our cloud-based systems, designing resilient CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and architecting the scalable, secure environments required to orchestrate AI and large-scale data workloads alongside legacy business systems. You will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of IT operations and an ongoing impact on growth, all while maintaining a rigorous, multi-framework compliance and privacy posture.

Requirements

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

1. Enterprise & Data Systems Integration
  • Modern Architectural Design: Deep experience designing resilient, scalable, and loosely coupled infrastructure patterns (such as microservices, event-driven architectures, and hybrid-cloud integration) capable of bridging legacy enterprise ecosystems with modern custom platforms.
  • Data & Platform Lifecycle: Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role. Track record supporting internally developed enterprise software (iQuest), implementing modern deployment strategies like blue-green or canary releases.
  • Technical Articulation: Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC. Ability to translate complex technical specifications and cloud reports into clear concepts for management and development partners.
2. Cloud & DevOps Infrastructure (Azure Focus)
  • Cloud Architecture: Advanced expertise in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (or equivalent cloud technologies), specifically architecting and managing enterprise environments using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services, and Azure SQL/Cosmos DB.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Advanced proficiency with Terraform or Azure Bicep. Expertise with platforms like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps to build automated, secure deployment pipelines.
3. AI, Data & Emerging Tech (MLOps)
  • AI & Data Infrastructure: Experience setting up infrastructure for AI agents, LLM orchestration frameworks, data warehouses, and vector databases, with specific focus on Azure OpenAI Service integration.
  • Compute & Cost Optimization: Familiarity with scaling Azure compute resources (GPU-enabled VMs), caching layers, and API Management (APIM) for AI and high-compute statistical modeling.
4. Security, Governance & Compliance
  • Compliance Frameworks: Direct experience architecting infrastructure and data management frameworks that conform to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS requirements.
  • Azure Governance & Privacy: Expert-level knowledge of Azure IAM, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Key Vault (secret management), Azure Policy, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Data Protection: Implementation experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), network isolation (Private Links/VNets), and end-to-end encryption protocols for data at rest and in transit.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Relevant training and/or professional certifications as a Data/Solutions Architect (AWS or Azure certifications strongly preferred).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • System Uptime & Stability: Maintain high availability across integrated ERP, iQuest, data infrastructure, and AI systems.
  • Deployment Velocity: Reduce the time it takes to push updates to the iQuest platform and AI agent logic safely through established DevOps best practices.
  • Compliance Audit Readiness: Achieve zero high-severity findings during external SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA, and PCI audits through continuous compliance monitoring and strict privacy guardrails.
  • Data Efficiency: Ensure minimal data latency and highly efficient, real-time or near-real-time data pipeline flows between core business systems.

Work Schedule: 2 days in office / 3 days WFH (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect & Orchestrate: Design, build, and maintain the end-to-end cloud and hybrid infrastructure connecting Epicor 21, iQuest, and our AI agent frameworks using Microsoft Azure.
  • Strategy & Digital Transformation: Develop and execute an enterprise-wide strategy for digital transformation, including cloud adoption best practices, overall enterprise data management frameworks, and the evaluation/selection of cloud providers and third-party services.
  • Enterprise Integration & Data Architecture: Translate business requirements into technical specifications (data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses). Build robust, automated pipelines to handle data syncing, API integrations, and deployments between our ERP and custom-built applications.
  • AI Infrastructure & MLOps: Establish the infrastructure required to deploy, monitor, and scale LLM-based AI agents and advanced analytics, ensuring efficient compute allocation, low-latency data access, secure token management, and computationally intensive statistical modeling.
  • CI/CD & DevOps Leadership: Standardize automated testing, deployment, and release management workflows for the internally developed iQuest platform. Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle (planning, development, testing, QA).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat all infrastructure as software, using Terraform or Azure Bicep to ensure environments are reproducible, version-controlled, and audited. Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques, including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
  • Security, Privacy & Compliance: Partner closely with IT security to monitor cloud privacy. Embed automated compliance checks directly into deployment pipelines to ensure zero-drift adherence to strict security standards.
  • Operations & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Mentorship & Training: Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.
