Global Payroll and Benefits Manager

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Global Payroll and Benefits Manager to manage the accurate, compliant and timely delivery of payroll and benefits operations across our international employee population, based in our Southampton office.

This role supports the day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of payroll processing and benefits programmes, working closely with HR, Finance and external vendors under the direction of the Head of Payroll & Benefits.

Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll Operations
  • Manage the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll cycles across multiple regions, ensuring compliance with statutory filings, tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for global payroll vendors and in-country providers, escalating issues where required.
  • Support payroll audits and help maintain robust controls, documentation and process consistency.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll queries and discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
Benefits Administration
  • Support the administration of benefits programmes across key markets, including renewals, enrolments and day-to-day vendor queries.
  • Assist in benchmarking benefits offerings to help maintain market competitiveness.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve the employee benefits experience and engagement.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure payroll and benefits processes comply with local labour laws, tax regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, policies and audit trails.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance colleagues to flag and help mitigate operational or regulatory risk.
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Support
  • Support payroll system implementations, process improvements and automation initiatives led by the Head of Payroll & Benefits.
  • Provide accurate payroll and benefits data and reporting to HR and Finance stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of contact for HR Business Partners and People Operations on payroll and benefits queries.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience in payroll operations, ideally with exposure to international or multi-country payroll.
  • Working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, with exposure to international payroll processes an advantage.
  • Experience working with payroll vendors and systems in a multi-country environment.
  • Good understanding of benefits administration and vendor management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential data accurately.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation (FinTech, SaaS or Technology experience an advantage).
