Positions involve intensive social work services requiring the exercise of mature professional judgment and the flexible use of a wide range of social work skills where complex, experienced diagnostic skills and intervention plans are essential. This level represents performance of services in serious and complex cases with demonstrated effectiveness based on sufficient training and experience. The Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker requires minimal supervision and guidance and exercises independent clinical judgment. Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Workers carry full professional responsibility for cases presenting a wide range of psycho-social and environmental barriers with no limitations as to the difficulty of services that would be performed. The Advanced LCSW serves as a role model and resource for clinical practice. In addition, the Advanced LCSW acts as a driver of departmental goals and development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification.
