Tool Crib Assistant II - Hangar Liaison
Responsibilities
- Manage Tools & Equipment: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of a wide variety of tools and equipment, ensuring timely availability to support continuous operations.
- Advanced Maintenance: Conduct cleaning, oiling, and repair tasks on tools and equipment, ensuring all items are safe, operational, and compliant with safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records and stock levels, monitor shortages, and manage surplus or obsolete inventory effectively.
- Workflow Coordination:
- Stage released kits in the stock room and coordinate their movement to the shop floor.
- Monitor shortages using system reports and collaborate daily with materials and planning teams to ensure kits are filled and moved forward promptly.
- Update teams and points of contact on kit and workflow status, ensuring operations proceed according to established schedules.
- Production & Scheduling: Meet regularly with managers, leads, controllers, and schedulers to understand build sequences and prioritize work, moving items forward as needed.
- Material Handling:
- Pull parts for maintenance orders and coordinate with planning for timely material delivery.
- Advise planners on new requirements and shortages, ensuring needs are addressed quickly.
- Monitor receiving reports for urgent parts and facilitate their movement across campus to appropriate hangars.
- Handle material transfers for repairs, ensuring smooth workflow and timely shipping.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Attend standup meetings with planners, providing updates on kits and program status.
- Run and review reports (MO status, Short fill, PR/PO, Receiving) to monitor material efforts.
- Meet with management, materials, and planning teams to discuss workflow, workload, system issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring Tool Crib Assistant I staff, enhancing the organization and maintenance of the tool crib environment.
Qualifications You Must Have
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a relevant technical or related field.
- Strong understanding of tool and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to maintain inventory records and manage stock levels.
- Basic understanding of the use, maintenance, and repair of a variety of hand/power tools and tooling equipment.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems.
- Experience with TCMax Asset Management Suite.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Requirement to be on your feet for much of the work shift.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and small components.
- Ability to work in potentially hazardous and loud environments.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $22.95 - $31.56. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
