DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Participate in analysis and design phases to select suitable technology stacks and architect optimal technical solutions. Convert quantitative data into actionable insights. Follow Agile methodologies, participating in ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning and story grooming using JIRA Scrum board. Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: developing and maintaining applications using Java & J2EE, Python, and Spring frameworks, Hibernate, JPA, focusing on REST API implementation and SOA architecture, Open API implementation and Swagger; developing microservices architecture applications that adhere to SOLID principles using Spring Cloud plugins such as Eureka, Netflix, or ZUUL proxy, incorporating design patterns such as circuit breaker, CQRS, or API Gateway; implement data ingestion pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, WebSphere MQ, SQS, SNS, Message Driven Beans, or EJB; designing databases using Redshift, Oracle, and Sybase to ensure alignment with business requirements and scalability; creating JUnit, Mockito and integration test cases to validate functionalities, and configure tools including JMeter and Blaze Meter within Jenkins build pipelines and following BDD principles; managing release activities with tools including Jenkins pipelines; implementing dashboards using React JS and configuring continuous monitoring endpoints with SRE tools such as Grafana or AppDynamics; utilizing Splunk for problem analysis and root cause identification through alerts and dashboards; designing application architecture, conducting code reviews, and ensuring compliance with coding standards using tools including Jenkins, Git, and SonarQube; implementing OAUTH2 for application security and managing API catalogues securely; transforming monolithic applications into Spring Cloud microservices and develop UI components with Angular; working with build tools such as Maven or ANT to automate the compilation, testing, and packaging of applications; using Docker and Kubernetes to build, test, and deploy applications efficiently, and ensure consistency across environments, and assists in managing and scaling software; configuring AutoSys schedulers for Control-M jobs; and utilizing tools including Postman, JIRA, and SCRUM to test code, organize, and work with the team to deliver high-quality software.
