Our Daycare Assistant Role
We’re looking for a Daycare Assistant to join the team at WagWorks. This full-time role is perfect for someone who is eager to begin or build on a career in the dog care industry. You’ll work alongside our team of dog care professionals, learning and applying your understanding of canine communication to create the best possible environment for our members. Your keen eye for detail will ensure we maintain high standards of hygiene and accurate record-keeping, all while upholding WagWorks’ commitment to positive and respectful dog care.
Requirements
- Relevant Experience & Qualifications: Previous experience working with dogs and/or holding at least an OFQUAL regulated Level 2 qualification in a related field.
- Knowledge of Breeds & Training Techniques: Thorough understanding of different dog breeds, with a commitment to positive training methods.
- Eagerness to Learn: Willingness to deepen your knowledge of dog behaviour and wellbeing.
- Reliability & Responsibility: Punctual, trustworthy, and dedicated to delivering a high standard of care.
- Calm & Confident: Able to manage large groups of dogs of all sizes and breeds, using initiative to ensure the safety of dogs and humans.
- Customer-Focused: Passion for building positive relationships with clients and their dogs, treating everyone with genuine care and respect.
- WagWorks Ambassador: Proud to promote our dog care philosophy and our state-of-the-art facility.
Responsibilities
- Canine Supervision: Oversee and manage our canine members, paying close attention to each dog’s individual needs.
- Behaviour Monitoring: Observe dog behaviour, keep detailed records, and collaborate with our Behaviourist and Veterinarian teams where needed.
- Engagement & Rest: Follow the WagWorks daycare routine, ensuring dogs receive appropriate stimulation and essential downtime.
- Cross-Department Support: Assist in other areas of the facility (e.g. grooming, veterinary, training, administration) as required.
- Cleaning & Hygiene: Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Client Interaction: Offer excellent customer service, building lasting relationships with both owners and their dogs.

Salary: £26,364
Working Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday and every other Saturday
