Overall Purpose: As VP Chief of Staff, this position is responsible for implementing, improving, supporting, and leading key processes, strategies, communications, and tools that enable technical organizations to operate more effectively. The role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, driving alignment across teams, and strengthening competitive advantage within technical business areas. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of technical organization structures, processes, procedures, tools, applications, and systems, combined with a strong business background to effectively support strategic and operational priorities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as a strategic partner to leadership by increasing leadership effectiveness, protecting focus, and enabling senior leaders to concentrate on the highest-value priorities.
- Translate vision into execution by turning strategic direction into clear action plans, operating priorities, and measurable outcomes across the organization.
- Lead high-priority, cross functional initiatives that span multiple business units, especially where ownership is unclear or coordination is complex.
- Drive alignment across leadership and teams by clarifying priorities, surfacing tradeoffs, and ensuring stakeholders are working toward shared business outcomes.
- Maintain execution momentum by tracking progress, identifying risks, removing blockers, and ensuring critical initiatives continue moving forward despite shifting demands.
- Clarify ownership and accountability by defining roles, decision rights, and responsibilities to reduce ambiguity and improve speed of execution.
- Act as the connective tissue across the organization by linking strategy, people, priorities, and execution to ensure coordinated action.
- Bridge communication across functions and leadership levels by translating strategy into clear messaging, actionable plans, and aligned next steps.
- Support leadership operating rhythm by helping manage business cadence, leadership meetings, follow-ups, and priority reviews to maintain consistency and focus.
- Provide candid, objective insight to leadership by surfacing issues, challenging assumptions when needed, and helping leaders make informed decisions.
- Set the tone for organizational effectiveness by reinforcing clarity, accountability, collaboration, and disciplined execution.
- Ensure strategic outcomes are delivered by focusing not only on activity, but on completion, impact, and successful implementation of key initiatives.
Job Contribution: An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs and implements innovative business strategies. Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Business. 7+ years of related experience.
