The opportunity


Hitachi Energy is looking for a Factory Test Room Technician for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team in Maneja,Vadodara. In this role, you will perform hands-on testing and inspections of transformers to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to rigorous testing processes, supporting Hitachi Energy’s commitment to quality and safety in delivering smarter and more sustainable energy solutions.
 

Responsible for performing hands-on testing and inspections of transformers to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. Set up test circuits, operate equipment, and accurately verify results while maintaining tools and work-spaces. Support the execution of rigorous testing processes under the supervision of Test Room Engineers, contributing to the organization’s commitment to quality and safety.

Collaborate with the Factory Test Room team to set up and operate test equipment and measuring devices, under the supervision of Test Room engineers or Test Room Manager.

Execute assigned test procedures to ensure products meet specifications, assisting in the coordination of testing activities from preparation to completion while adapting to any necessary changes.
Collect, record, and securely store test data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and customer specifications. Assist in the preparation of reports based on collected data.
Ensure the test equipment and other testing accessories are used correctly and for its intended purpose by authorized personnel. Ensure no misuse or damage.

Support in measuring and tracking Test Room performance indicators to support continuous improvement efforts, and report test results and operational metrics to senior staff as needed.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on testing processes and suggesting ideas for enhancements in efficiency and quality.

Follow Factory Quality Management System (QMS).

Actively participate in training for further development and continuous learning.

Key Tasks
    Follow company health and safety regulations in all testing activities.
    Ensure compliance with ISO and industry regulations during testing operations.
    Execute assigned tests.
    Set up and operate test equipment and measuring devices under the supervision of Test Room Engineers or Test Room Manager.

    Perform routine, special, and design tests as assigned.
    Conduct more complex tests with guidance from senior staff.
    Verify test results are accurate and maintain logs.
    Report test results and any anomalies to senior engineers or managers.
    Report equipment malfunctions to the Test Room Engineer or Test Room Manager.
    Assist in preparing test reports.
    Support identification of root causes by assisting in failure analyses.
    Collaborate with team members on implementation of corrective actions for product issues.
    Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on processes.
    Assist in the training of new or less experienced employees.
    Ensure tidiness and support the 5S program in the Test Room.
