Für das Team von Microwave Instrument Engineering Germany – TSEOM1 suchen wir einen/eine SAR Image Processing and Algorithm Systemingenieur (m/w/d) für weltraumgestützte Radarnutzlasten. Die Tätigkeit umfasst die Arbeit mit umfangreichen Satellitendatensätzen, die Entwicklung innovativer Signal- und Bildverarbeitungstechniken sowie die Unterstützung der Bereitstellung hochwertiger SAR-Bildprodukte für kommerzielle, wissenschaftliche und Verteidigungsanwendungen.

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

• Entwurf, Entwicklung und Optimierung von SAR-Bildverarbeitungsalgorithmen unter Berücksichtigung der Implementierungs- und Operationalisierungsaspekte

• Entwicklung von Algorithmen für SAR-Fokussierung, Kalibrierung, Geokodierung und Änderungserkennung

• Validierung der Leistungsfähigkeit des Algorithmus mittels Simulationen und Benchmark-Datensätze

• Verarbeitung und Analyse von SAR-Daten relevanter weltraumgestützter Radarplattformen

• Entwicklung und Wartung skalierbarer Pipelines mit Matlab und Python

• Erstellung und Aktualisierung relevanter technischer Dokumentationen, Berichte, Lieferpakete und wissenschaftlicher Publikationen

• Unterstützung der Integration von Algorithmen in operative Softwaresysteme

• Zusammenarbeit mit multidisziplinären Teams

• Teilnahme an neuesten Entwicklungen in den Bereichen SAR-Verarbeitung, künstliche Intelligenz und maschinelles Lernen

• Unterstützung der F&E-Aktivitäten innerhalb der Abteilung (Planung und Durchführung)

• Unterstützung von Design-Reviews mit Kunden und Lieferanten

Erforderliche Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen

• Ingenieurstudium im Bereich Elektrotechnik, Informatik oder vergleichbare Qualifikation

• Gute Kenntnisse in der Signalverarbeitung, insbesondere in Fourier-Analyse, Filterung, Optimierung und statistischer Signalverarbeitung

• Gute mathematische und algorithmische Entwicklungskenntnisse

• Verständnis über die Prinzipien des Synthetic Aperture Radar und deren Acquisition Modes

• Kenntnisse in Matlab- und Python-Programmierung, sowie deren Bibliotheken für numerische Berechnungen

• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Linux-Entwicklungsumgebungen und Versionskontrollsystemen

• Ausgeprägte analytische, problemlösende und kommunikative Fähigkeiten

• Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von SAR-Bildverarbeitungsalgorithmen

• Erfahrung in der Arbeit in technischen Teams

• Erfahrung mit Cloud-basierten oder Hochleistungsrechnerumgebungen ist von Vorteil.

• Kenntnisse im Bereich maschinelles Lernen und Deep Learning sind von Vorteil.

• Erfahrung mit Radarnutzlasten ist von Vorteil

• Fließende Englischkenntnisse, Deutschkenntnisse sind von Vorteil.

• Möglichkeit, eine nationale Sicherheitsfreigabe zu erhalten und aufrechtzuerhalten.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize SAR image processing algorithms while keeping in mind implementation and operationalisation aspects

• Develop algorithms for SAR focusing, calibration, geocoding and change detection

• Validate algorithm performance through simulations and benchmark datasets

• Process and analyze SAR data from relevant spaceborne radar platforms

• Develop and maintain scalable processing pipelines using Matlab and Python

• Prepare and update relevant technical documentation, reports, delivery packages and scientific publications

• Support the integration of algorithms into operational software systems

• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams

• Stay up to date with the latest developments in SAR processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning

• Support R&D activities within the department (planning and execution)

• Support design reviews with stakeholders, customers and suppliers

Desired skills and qualifications

• Degree in Electric Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Software Engineering or similar

• Strong Signal processing background, especially on Fourier analysis, filtering, optimization and statistical signal processing

• Strong mathematical and algorithm development skills

• Understanding of Synthetic Aperture Radar principles, acquisition modes

• Knowledge of Matlab and Python programming and its numerical computing libraries

• Familiarity with Linux development environments and version control systems

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

• Experience in developing SAR image processing algorithms

• Experience in working in technical teams

• Experience with cloud-based or high-performance computing environments is an asset

• Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques is an asset

• Experience with Radar Payloads is an asset

• Fluent in English, German is an asset
