The Role

The Associate Program Analyst is an entry-level role that supports the delivery and ongoing operation of customer data protection and compliance programs. Working under the guidance of experienced analysts, consultants, and subject matter experts, the Associate Program Analyst performs routine monitoring and triage, maintains accurate program documentation, completes assigned service & change requests, and supports reporting and analysis.

This role is designed to build foundational knowledge of information security, data protection, customer operations, and policy administration through on-the-job training, coaching, and progressively more complex assignments. As an Associate Program Analyst, you will support the day-to-day delivery of customer programs while developing the technical, analytical, and professional skills required for progression within Applied Services. You will work within established processes and escalation paths and contribute to reliable and timely customer outcomes.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Perform daily monitoring and initial triage of supported customer systems by following documented procedures, playbooks, and escalation criteria.
  • Identify and escalate notable activity to senior team members or customers for further review, in accordance with established processes.
  • Open, update, complete, and close service & change requests and other assigned work items accurately and on time.
  • Maintain customer documentation, case notes, trackers, and operational records to support program continuity and auditability.
  • Collect, organize, and validate data for recurring reports, metrics, quality reviews, and basic trend analysis.
  • Assist senior team members with gathering information and documenting business requirements for program, policy, and service enhancements.
  • Support policy configuration, testing, implementation, and validation activities.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and make corrections based on feedback from senior analysts, consultants, and supervisors.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and, when assigned, with customers using approved communication standards.
  • Assist the team in meeting customer service-level agreements, operational targets, and quality expectations.
  • Follow Proofpoint security requirements, including applicable ISO 27001 controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete assigned training, certification, and development milestones and apply learned skills to progressively more complex work.
  • Participate in an after-hours or weekend on-call rotation after completing required training and demonstrating readiness.
  • Provide reasonable schedule flexibility and travel to customer sites when required to support business or customer needs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in information systems, cybersecurity, business, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Zero to two years of relevant professional experience; internships, academic projects, military experience, apprenticeships, or customer service experience may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented procedures consistently.
  • Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review information, recognize patterns, and identify when escalation is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and ask for guidance when requirements or priorities are unclear.
  • Interest in developing knowledge of information security, data protection, compliance, and enterprise technology environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and receive and apply coaching and feedback.
  • Basic proficiency with common productivity tools such as Microsoft Office.
