receptionist / night auditor
Our Client is a well-established company operating in the hospitality industry, recognised for delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of service excellence.
FUNCTION
Reporting to the Front Office Coordinator, will be responsible for delivering exceptional front office services while ensuring the accurate execution of the hotel's night audit procedures; provide a professional and welcoming experience to guests, support revenue control, and ensure compliance with operational and financial procedures; welcome guests and provide a courteous, professional and efficient check-in and check-out experience; handle reservations, amendments, cancellations and guest enquiries in a timely manner; answer incoming telephone calls and respond to guest requests professionally; perform the Night Audit process, ensuring the accurate reconciliation of daily financial transactions; process payments, issue invoices, prepare daily cash deposits and process authorised refunds; maintain accurate cash float balances and comply with all financial control and audit procedures; verify reservations and secure valid payment methods for arriving guests; maximise room occupancy through effective reservation management and room allocation; generate and distribute daily operational and financial reports; ensure the accuracy and integrity of guest information captured in the property Management System (PMS); register maintenance requests and follow up on reported issues; handle guest complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution or escalation where necessary; ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety procedures and data protection requirements; coordinate effectively with Housekeeping, Reservations, Sales, Revenue Management and other hotel departments; promote exceptional guest service standards to encourage guest satisfaction, loyalty and positive online reviews; participate in training programmes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (High School Diploma);
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Previous experience in Front Office, Reception or Customer Service will be an added advantage;
- Previous experience within the hospitality industry is desirable;
- Knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) is advantageous;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong customer service orientation;
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills;
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities;
- Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is required (additional languages will be considered an advantage);
- Mozambican Nationality.
