Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Analyst II, IT - Leak Detection with experience with real time control in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team!

 

Role Summary:
The Analyst II, Leak Detection role is responsible for supporting the planning, development, installation, and maintenance of the Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) system and related applications that support Buckeye's real time pipeline operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • CPM System Program Support. Support program of cyclic review of CPM models and alarm thresholds. Follow procedures and provide supporting documentation to ensure leak detection models are configured correctly and provide control center personnel with accurate information for identifying and responding to potential leak indications.
  • Leak Detection and Batch Tracking System Support. Support the Leak Detection and Batch Tracking system including configuration, instrumentation/equipment recommendations, pipeline parameters, threshold evaluation, troubleshooting analysis, training, and vendor
    contact.
  • Leak Investigation Support. Assist the Control Center and Field Operations in the investigation of credible leak indications.
  • Project Support. Support ongoing pipeline project work as it pertains to leak detection and batch tracking, as well as internal SCADA and CPM software/hardware upgrade projects.
  • Maintenance. Maintaining existing CPM hardware including servers & workstations.
  • Training. Complete and maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) training for CPM system maintenance, and other training as necessary.
  • R&D. Attend industry conferences and trade shows to keep abreast of new industry tools, technologies and methodologies for SCADA and Leak Detection. Support the application of new technologies within the CPM system to meet organizational needs.
  • User Support. Provide On-Call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a rotational basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field required
  • 3+ years experience with real time control systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations and procedures, computer systems hardware, network and
    communications configuration, personal computer applications, process control systems,
    applications and operation of computer support facilities preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% both domestically and internationally.

    business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
  • Persons in this position are asked to respond to emergencies immediately and requires an incumbent who has the ability to meet stringent deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Persons in this position must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and interact on numerous concepts.
  • While working in the SCADA & Leak Detection environment, one must possess a keen cybersecurity awareness and adhere to cybersecurity policies.
