The territory for this role is all of Finland.
The IOL (Intraocular Lens) Manager is responsible for driving the adoption, growth, and strategic positioning of Alcon’s cataract and refractive IOL portfolio in Finland. The role focuses on developing strong partnerships with targeted ophthalmic surgeons, public hospitals, private clinics, and key opinion leaders to enhance surgical outcomes, increase market penetration, and support the successful implementation of Alcon's premium technologies and patient solutions.
In this role, a typical day can include:
1. Commercial Leadership & Business Growth
- Drive sales growth and market share expansion of Alcon’s IOL portfolio, including monofocal, toric, multifocal, and advanced technology lenses.
- Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with regional and national objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities within strategic accounts and establish action plans to maximize business potential together with Strategic Account Management Team.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity, and customer needs to proactively adapt commercial strategies.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build trusted partnerships with cataract and refractive surgeons, clinical staff, procurement teams, and healthcare administrators.
- Maintain a high level of customer engagement through regular business reviews and account planning.
- Act as a customer advocate within Alcon to support long-term account development and satisfaction.
3. Premium IOL Adoption & Practice Development
- Support customers in developing premium cataract programs that enhance patient access to advanced technology IOLs.
- Provide consultative guidance on patient pathways, practice workflows, patient education, and premium offering implementation.
- Collaborate with surgeons and clinical teams to identify opportunities to improve premium lens conversion rates.
- Assist customers in optimizing operational efficiency and patient experience throughout the cataract journey.
4. Clinical & Product Expertise
- Maintain advanced knowledge of Alcon's cataract surgical and IOL portfolio.
- Communicate product benefits, clinical evidence, and value propositions effectively to healthcare professionals.
- Support product evaluations, launches, and adoption initiatives.
- Ensure customers remain informed about new technologies, innovations, and evidence-based practices.
5. Education & Stakeholder Development
- Facilitate educational meetings, workshops, and training programs for surgeons and clinical staff.
- Support peer-to-peer learning opportunities and customer engagement events.
- Partner with marketing and clinical teams to deliver customer education aligned with Alcon strategies.
- Develop emerging surgeon relationships and support onboarding to Alcon technologies.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Surgical Sales, Marketing, Professional Affairs, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support successful product launches and strategic initiatives within the assigned region.
- Contribute customer insights and market feedback to influence business decisions and future portfolio strategies.
- Ensure seamless execution of customer programs and business commitments.
7. Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Continuously assess competitor activities, market trends, reimbursement environments, and customer purchasing behaviors.
- Analyze account performance and business opportunities using data-driven insights.
- Develop account plans for priority customers.
- Forecast business performance accurately and maintain effective opportunity management.
8. Compliance & Quality
- Conduct all business activities in accordance with Alcon policies, industry regulations, and applicable healthcare compliance standards.
- Ensure transparency and integrity in all customer interactions.
- Maintain accurate reporting, CRM documentation, and business records.
